South Central Railway, under Indian Railways, Govt of India, has released notification for recruitment or rather engagement of act apprentices for a total of 4,103 vacancies. Applications are invited in online mode, and for the same, registration has started at scr.indianrailways.gov.in.
The deadline to apply online for this railway recruitment 2019 is December 8, 2019. Application fee is Rs 100. To apply, one has to visit scr.indianrailways.gov.in and click “ACT APPRENTICE – 2019 Online Application Registration”.
Category wise, the vacancies distribution is such that there are 1,689 vacancies for unreserved, 1,101 for OBC, 607 for SC, 302 for ST, and 404 for EWS. Trade wise, there are twelve trades namely AC mechanic with 249 vacancies, carpenter trade has 16, diesel mechanic with 640 vacancies, electrical / electronics with 18, electrician trade has 871 vacancies. Then the trade of electronic mechanic has 102 vacancies, fitter has the highest vacancies equal to 1,460. Machinist trade has 74 vacancies, MMW has 24, MMTM has 12, painter has 40, and welder trade has 597 vacancies.
Govt job aspirants in the age range of 15 years to 24 years as on December 8, 2019 are eligible. SC, ST, OBC get a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. PWBD get upto 10 years.
Educational qualification requirement of the post is to be class 10th pass with at least 50% in aggregate from a recognized board, and ITI certificate in relevant trade is required. These qualifications should be had as on the date of November 9, 2019.
Engineering graduates and diploma holders cannot apply for SCR apprentice recruitment.
Railways will select candidates by preparing a merit list on the basis of the average of the marks obtained in class 10th, and ITI. Equal weightage will be given to both. Wherever two candidates get the same marks, then older candidate will get a higher position. If that too is the same, then the one who has passed class 10th earlier shall be placed higher in merit.
For the purpose of apprentice engagement in Indian Railways, the various railway zones keep publishing recruitment notifications from time to time. Prior to SWR, very recently RRC Jaipur invited applications for 2,029 vacancies. Diesel Locomotive Works also published notification for 374 vacancies. Registrations for these two are in fact open right now, at rrcjaipur.in, and dlw.indianrailways.gov.in respectively.
The years 2018 and 2019 witnessed a landslide participation of job seekers in railway recruitment. Over 47 lakh applied for ALP and technician, an unbelievable number of over 1.89 crore applied for group D. Then 24 lakh plus applied for junior engineer posts. For NTPC again a staggering number of 1.26 crores submitted their candidature. For paramedical and ministerial posts 4.4 lakh and 1 lakh respectively applied. In the second group D recruitment, again the registrations crossed 1.1 crore.
Of the advertised positions, recruitment processes per se are over for RRB CEN 01/2018, and RRB CEN 02/2018. Document verification processes are ongoing for RRB CEN 03/2018. For the others, RRB CEN 01/2019, RRB CEN 02/2019, RRB CEN 03/2019, RRC CEN 01/2019, either exams or results are pending.
This particular recruitment is by South Central Railways. It comprises of six divisions namely Guntakal, Guntur, Hyderabad, Nanded, Secunderabad, and Vijaywada. SCR Indian Railways manages over 754 stations, and has a staff strength of over 80 thousand.
