State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Punjab has announced the revised schedule of Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2019. All the dates, including that of registration, corrections, admit card download, and exam date have been changed.
As per the new revised schedule of PSTET 2018 (the exam is officially referred to as PSTET 2018, though candidates are widely referring to it as PSTET 2019 or PSTET 2020), the exam will be held on December 22, 2019. Earlier, the exam date was December 15, 2019. As can be seen, the exam date has been shifted by a week.
The last date to register for the state level teacher eligibility test is now December 3, 2019, 12 PM. In the previous schedule, deadline to apply was November 25, 2019.
Candidates will be able to make corrections in application form, from December 4, 2019, 12 PM. After that the PSTET admit card will be issued on December 16, 2019.
It may be noted that as per the previous schedule, application form correction for PSTET had already started on November 25, 2019. Not only was it scheduled, but the event had actually started, as confirmed by the countdown timer on the login page, pstet.net/Login.aspx. Whereas earlier the countdown timer was showing days and time left for correction to end, it is now showing the days and time left for registration to close.
At the time of publishing this news, 5 days and little over 4 hours are seen to be remaining for PSTET registration to end
SCERT has not provided any specific reason behind changing the timeline for the exam. However as per speculations, it is probably to allow those candidates to apply, who could not do it earlier. It may also be to give more number of days between the Punjab TET and CTET 2019 which is scheduled for December 8, 2019.
