India Post or the Department of Posts, Uttarakhand Circle, has published a post officer recruitment 2019-2020 notification. Through notification number “Rectt / Sports Recruitment Guidelines / 2019”, the circle invites applications from eligible meritorious sportspersons for recruitment as postal assistant, sorting assistant, postman, and multi tasking staff against sports quota vacancies.
Vacancies have been divided between divisions, cadres, categories, vacancy year. Last date for receipt of application is December 20, 2019. However from candidates hailing from remote areas, applications will be accepted until December 24, 2019.
The application fees to apply for post office recruitment 2019-2020 is Rs 400 for OC and OBC candidates, and Rs 100 from SC, ST, women candidates. Mode of payment is by depositing the amount in UCR in any post office of Uttarakhand circle, and candidates outside Uttarakhand circle should attach IPOs.
To apply, one has to download the application form from indiapost.gov.in. Then they have to completely fill the form, attach requisite documents with it. Then the application should be sent as per instructions via speed post or registered post.
To start with, there is 1 vacancy of postal assistant in Almora. 1 of postal assistant in Pithorgrah. Then in RMS DN division Dehradun there are 4 vacancies of sorting assistant, and 1 more of the same but of a different vacancy year. Nainital division has 1 vacancy of postman. Pauri too has 1 vacancy of postman. Pithorgrah has 1 vacancy of MTS post.
The position of postal assistant lies in level 4 of the pay matrix, postman in level 3, and MTS in level 1. Some of the vacancies belong to the vacancy year 2017-18, and others to the year 2018.
For the post office recruitment 2019-2020, candidates who are 18 to 27 years old as on the closing date of the applications are invited to apply. The age relaxation for OCs is 5 years, 10 years for SC and ST, 8 years for OBC. Cut off dates to calculate age limit are 01.04.2017 for 2017-18 vacancies, and 01.04.2018 for 2018 vacancies.
Applicants should be at least class 12th pass with English as a compulsory subject. They should have knowledge of the local language, Hindi, and should have studied the language at least up to matriculation level. Other than for MTS, applicants of other posts should have computer application or typing and data entry knowledge upto 30 wpm in english or 25 wpm in hindi.
As a sportsperson, any one of the four conditions must be fulfilled. Either candidate is a sportsman who represented a state or the country in the national or international competition in game/sport. Or is a sportsman who represented their university in the inter-university tournaments conducted by the inter-university sports boards. Or is a sportsman who represented the state school teams in the national sports/games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation. Or is a sportsman who was awarded National awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.
