Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education And Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh has declared the result PGIMER 2019 Result for MD / MS. The result has been announced today, on November 26th, 2018. The institute announced the result on the official website, pgimer.edu.in, in a pdf form. Qualifying candidates, as per the result, will now be called for the counselling and seat allotment round.
The result pdf contains the roll number, name, category, percentile, overall rank, and category rank of the successful candidates. Sarthak Wadhera of General category has topped the examination with 99.994 percentile. He has secured rank 1, in overall and category ranking. In SC category, Namrata Das has got Rank 1, by getting a percentile of 98.1614.
In case two or more candidates have scored the same marks in the PGIMER 2019 test the tie-breaking policy applied by the institute are 1. The candidate who scored more in MBBS examination will be ranked higher in the inter merit list. 2. In case the marks obtained in MBBS are also the same candidate who is junior in age will be considered.
To qualify the examination there has been a qualifying criterion set by the institution for candidates as per their category that they belong to, The candidates who belong to Open (General) and Sponsored/Deputed category will have to score 55 percentile, candidates belonging to OBC, OPH, SC/ST, Rural Area, Foreign Nationals need to obtain a 55 percentile and candidates belonging to Bhutanese Nationals need to obtain 45 percentile to qualify PGIMER 2019.
There will be a counseling round that will be conducted a per the merit list prepared by the institution. This merit list will be according to the marks obtained by the candidates. As per the merit list, candidates will have to attend the counselling. the number of candidates that will be called for the first counseling will be three times more than the seats available as said the institution. In case a candidate remains absent from the counseling he/she will be eliminated from the admission process.
The admission letter will be provided to candidates who will get admission after the couselling round. If a candidate fails to join from the date mentioned n the letter their admission will be canceled. In case the number of seats remains empty another counseling round will be conducted by the institution to fill those seats.
The Postgraduate Institute Of Medical Education And Research Chandigarh conducts PGIMER entrance examination for offering various postgraduate courses offered at the institution. The PGIMER Entrance Examination is held twice a year for admission to 20 postgraduate courses offered by the institution.
