Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) is inviting applications for filling various vacancies for the post of Senior Residents, Jr./Sr. Demonstrators in different specialities. Vacancies in Senior Residents, Demonstrators in different specialities in AIIMS Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh are also filled via the recruitment. In total there are 109 vacancies.
The pay scale for the various posts like Senior Resident / Sr. Demonstrator (Medical) is Level-11 in Pay Matrix with a minimum of Rs. 67,700 + NPA and Jr. Demonstrator (Medical and Non-Medical) is Level-06 in Pay Matrix with a minimum of Rs. 35,400 + NPA. For the post of Sr. Demonstrator (Non-Medical), the pay scale is Level-10 in Pay Matrix with a minimum of Rs. 56,100.
The application for the recruitment can be filled online at pgimer.edu.in and must be submitted before October 21, 2020. In order to submit the form, aspirants have to pay an amount of Rs. 800 in case of SC / ST category whereas for all other others including General/ OBC/EWS, they will need to pay an amount of Rs. 1500. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from paying the application fee. The payment can be done by online mode using Debit card / credit card / net banking.
For applying for the post, candidates should first cross-check the eligibility criteria for the same. Candidates up to 45 years can apply for recruitment in these posts. For all posts of Senior Residents, candidates must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council. and must possess a postgraduate degree in the speciality concerned or its equivalent. Likewise, for other posts too, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the necessary eligibility conditions before applying.

The selection of the candidates is done based on their performance in the Computer-based test (CBT) which shall be held on November 19, 2020. The test will be of 50 minutes and will have 50 questions of one and half marks each. It is to be noted that there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Based on the candidate’s performance in CBT, they will be shortlisted further recruitment process i.e. scrutiny of their applications and documents to decide their eligibility.
For the computer-based, the Institute will release admit cards and roll number for the candidates online at its official website. I(t shall be released a week before the commencement of the exam.
Final selection of candidates is done based on merit on the aggregate score obtained by the candidate in Computer Based Test (CBT) of 75 marks and departmental interview & assessment for 25 marks. The syllabus of the computer-based test for the posts of Senior Residents and Jr./Sr. Demonstrators will be same as they studied during the prescribed educational qualification / professional course.
