Ordnance Factory Board has released a short notice for the engagement of apprentices for the 56th batch. Online applications will be invited from Indian citizens for filling up vacancies in the non-ITI as well as ITI categories. The approximate number of vacancies are 4805 in all ordnance factories.
Interested candidates would be able to apply online for the announced vacancies from the last week of December 2019 as per the information in the notice. For the non-ITI category trade there are 1595 vacancies and for ITI category there are 3210 vacancies. These are the approximate number of vacancies and may vary with the detailed advertisement released soon before the starting of the application form.
As of now, ordnance factory board has not provided any information regarding the reservation of vacancies for reserved category candidates. However, seats are anticipated to be reserved as per extant reservation norms, and details of the same will be available in the detailed notification that is looked forward to be released next week or in the week after that.
The educational qualification required to apply for the posts in the non-ITI category is to have passed class 10th with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in mathematics and science each. Similarly, if applying for posts in the non ITI category, a person must possess an ITI certificate in a relevant discipline from an institute recognized by NCVT or SCVT with 50% marks. Along with this, a candidate must also have cleared his/her class 10th with 50% aggregate marks.
One must also adhere to the age specifications along with the educational qualification. The prescribed minimum age of the candidates shall be 15 years and maximum will be 24 years. However, OFB has provided relaxation in the upper age limit as per government norms.
Candidates must check all the details before applying. A detailed advertisement will be released containing in-depth details about required educational qualification, age limit, eligibility criteria, salary structure, selection procedure and other details pertaining to the recruitment guidelines, on the official website, ofb.gov.in.
As per the instructions laid down under the recruitment notice released, candidates have to apply only through the board’s website which is ofb.gov.in. And those who have already applied through the government of India portal, apprenticeship.gov.in, have to re-apply again through the OFB website. The board says, only the website shall be taken as the main source for the official and authentic information, as any corrigendum related to the change in dates, vacancies and others will only be uploaded through the website ofb.gov.in.
