National Testing Agency (NTA) is accepting online applications for UGC NET 2019 December exam only until October 9. At 11.50 pm on Wednesday, the apply online link at ugcnet.nta.nic.in, which is available right now, will cease to exist. And even if it does, then new registrations will not be allowed, only login will be available.
UGC NET or the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is national level exam for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship. It is for humanities and social sciences programs. Whereas the other NET exam, by the name of CSIR NET is for sciences (last date to apply for CSIR NET 2019 is also October 9).
Masters degree holders with at least 55%, or such degree holders belonging to OBC, SC, ST, PWD, transgender category with 50% can apply for UGC NET. It was last held in July this year, and the next one is in December, from December 2 to 6.
The fee for NTA UGC NET Dec 2019 exam is Rs 1000 for general candidates, Rs 500 for EWS and OBC, Rs 250 for SC, ST, PWD, transgender.
For applicants, who successfully submit their forms on time, application form correction will open on October 18 and shall remain available until October 25. After that the admit card will be issued on November 9, which will be the entry pass for the exam center.
The application form was issued on September 9. Thus a total window of one month has been given for interested aspirants across the country to fill and submit the same. Whereas the official website to apply and all first updates of the exam is ugcnet.nta.nic.in, news regarding the eligibility test are also provided at nta.ac.in. Previously, the official website was ntanet.nic.in.
During registration, application number is generated, and password is something that the candidate himself or herself sets. Both these need to be kept safely for future reference, as they are required for all login purposes.
Options available to reset password are using security question and answer, using verification code via sms, and reset link via email. Likewise to find application number, candidates need to enter their name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, all as entered in the form initially.
Replica of application form of UGC NET December 2019 is provided in annexure VIII of the information brochure, which in turn is available at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The exam conducting body, National Testing Agency, has advised interested candidates to first go through the replica to understand what has to be filled where, and then fill the form.
NTA UGC NET December 2019 will be a computer based test. It will have two papers – I and II. I will have 50 questions, and II will have 100. Both the papers will be held one after the other, in same three hours duration. The test dates will witness exams in two shifts – first one from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, and second one from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Each question shall be worth 2 marks if correct, and there will be no negative marking. The number of candidates to be qualified , that is the total slots or eligibility for Assistant Professor, shall be equal to 6% of the candidates appeared in both the papers of NET.
