National Testing Agency (NTA) has published notification to announce that it will re-open application form for UGC NET Dec 2019, CSIR NET Dec 2019, JEE Main 2020, IIFT 2020 for students of Jammu and Kashmir only. The testing agency has taken the decision in view of the order received from the secretary to government, higher education department, Srinagar & Jammu.
Application form will be available once again for all the four exams from November 4 to 8, 2019. In the five days windows, only candidates from Jammu and Kashmir will be able to apply. Registration, application form filling, fee payment, and form submission – all four steps need to be completed in these dates only.
Further, it may be noted that those who apply in this window will get the choice of exam centers in cities of Jammu and Kashmir only. It may be noted that today, the state of Jammu and Kashmir transitioned to union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
UGC NET 2019 application form, CSIR NET 2019 application form, JEE Main 2020 registration, IIFT 2020 registration will respectively be available at ugcnet.nta.nic.in, csirnet.nta.nic.in, jeemain.nta.nic.in, iift.nta.nic.in. Other than extending the form filling dates, NTA has not made any changes to rest of the schedule.
However, it is pertinent to note that the date on which admit cards for UGC NET and CSIR NET exams are supposed to release on November 9, 2019. Which is just one day after the new last date to apply for J&K candidates. In such a situation, the question does arise on whether it will be feasible for NTA to issue admit cards in such a packed schedule.
For JEE Main 2020 Jan exams, the admit card will be available from December 6, 2019. Whereas for IIFT the release date is November 11, 2019.
NTA will conduct the national level eligibility test for assistant professor and junior research fellowship – UGC NET for humanities and social sciences subjects from December 2 to 6, 2019, and CSIR NET for science subjects on December 15, 2019. The engineering entrance exam JEE Main will be held from January 6 to 11, 2020. And the MBA entrance exam IIFT MBA IB will be held on December 1, 2019. Exam dates have not been changed.
The agency has only said that the letter D.O. No.PS/HED/2019/2442 is the reason behind re-opening application forms. Contents of the letter are not publicly available, however NTA states that it was regarding extending last date to submit online application form of UGC NET December 2019.
Yesterday, IIT Delhi also re-opened application form for GATE 2020 for J&K candidates exclusively. Now candidates from the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir can apply at gate.iitd.ac.in. For the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, the new last date to apply for said candidates is also November 8, 2019.
Tomorrow, NTA will issue online application forms for Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2020, Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2020. Their official websites have been launched, and they are respectively cmat.nta.nic.in and gpat.nta.nic.in.
