National Testing Agency (NTA) will accept registrations for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2020 January session until the deadline notified. The last date to apply online at jeemain.nta.nic.in is today, that is October 10, 2019. And the last time is 11.50 pm. With few hours left to apply, this is the last chance for those who wish to appear in the JEE Main 1 to be held in January.
It may be noted that today’s deadline is the extended last date. Initially, the last date to apply was September 30, 2019. After that the application fee can be paid until tomorrow, that is October 11, 2019, until 11.50 pm.
Three days after the fee payment deadline, NTA will open the window for application form correction. Whereas initially the application form correction was supposed to happen from October 11 to 17, 2019, now it will be available from October 14 to 20, 2019. Again the last availing time for the facility will be 11.50 pm on the last date.
At the time of filling in details in the online application form, candidates must avoid three basic mistakes. These are entering incorrect spelling of your name, incorrect date of birth or any other personal information, choosing exam center far from the place of residence of the student, not paying the application fee. Even though, the NTA will open the form correction facility, it has not been notified as to which details can be edited and which cannot.
JEE Main 2020 admit card will be issued for the registered applicants on December 06, 2019. The Joint Entrance Examination that will be held from January 06, to 11, 2020 will be the first of the two JEE Main tests for 2020-21 session. The second exam, also known as JEE Main 2, will be conducted in April 2020. It is not mandatory for the students to appear in both the exams. It is completely a student’s choice to appear in any of the two or both. If a student wished to appear in both the JEE Main exams, the best of the two scores will be considered for determining their rank.
From this year onwards, NTA has introduced a third paper in JEE Main exam for B.Planning course. Earlier there used to be one paper for BE/B.Tech aspirants, and one for B.Arch. and B.Planning aspirants.
JEE Main is conducted at National level for admission to BE, B.Tech., B.Arch., and B.Planning courses offered at NITs, IIITs, and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes. Other these institutes, various private institutes/ universities accepts JEE Main score as their selection criteria for admission in BTech courses. Apart from this, JEE Main also serves as a shortlisting criteria for JEE Advanced exam which is further conducted for entrance to IITs.
JEE Advanced 2020 is going to be conducted by IIT Delhi on May 17, 2020. Few changes are also being implemented in JEE Advanced exam like the board has decided to shortlist 2.5 lakh students including all categories from JEE Main 2020 to appear for JEE Advanced.
