JEE Main 2020, IIFT 2020, CSIR NET Dec 2019, UGC NET Dec 2019 Image Correction NTA

National Testing Agency (NTA) is now allowing students to remove discrepancies in images for JEE Main 2020, IIFT 2020, CSIR NET December 2019, and UGC NET December 2019 exams. The facility is now available at the official websites of these exams, which are respectively jeemain.nta.nic.in, iift.nta.nic.in, csirnet.nta.nic.in, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

On each of the official websites, students can see “remove image discrepancy” link under current events. Clicking it leads to the login page, for editing images. Here, one has to login with application number and password and proceed to upload fresh images.

For JEE Main 2020, students are required to upload a scanned clear passport photograph in JPEG or JPG format that should be between 10 kb to 200 kb. Both black and white and colored photos are allowed, as long as they are of clear contrast. Signature should be be of the same format, with size between 4 kb to 30 kb.

Specifications for photograph and signature are same for the IIFT 2020 application form. In addition, in this form, candidates have to upload scanned clear copy of certificates that show category and/or subcategory. It should be in JPEG or JPG format, and its size should be between 50 kb to 300 kb.

In case of UGC NET Dec 2019 application form, candidates need to upload photograph and signature of the same format and size. However it is also specified that the photograph should be taken on or after September 2, 2019, and should preferably indicate the name of candidate and the date of taking the photograph. Candidate should not be wearing cap or goggles. Polaroid or computer generated photographs are also not allowed. It is also specified in the brochure that candidate should put signature in running handwriting on white paper with black ink pen. Full name in the box in capital letters will not be accepted.

The same specifications shall apply to CSIR NET December 2019 application form.

NTA had not mentioned that it would allow image corrections in any of the information brochures – either of JEE Main 2020, or IIFT 2020, of CSIR NET Dec 2019, or UGC NET Dec 2019. However it has allowed it now, most probably seeing that several candidates make glaring errors in the photographs.

Right now only images can be corrected. Later on application form corrections will open. JEE Main 2020 application form correction will be available from October 11 to October 17. For IIFT 2020, it will be available from November 1 to November 7. CSIR NET Dec 2019 application form correction can be availed from October 18 to October 25. And at the same time, it will open for UGC NET Dec 2019 as well.

It is pertinent to note that online application form submission is still open for all four exams. For JEE Main Jan 2020, IIFT 2020, CSIR NET Dec 2019, UGC NET Dec 2019, the last dates to submit online form are respectively September 30, October 25, October 9, and October 9.

Where does NTA specify that ‘the photograph should be taken on or after September 2, 2019″ ?

That is in UGC NET, CSIR NET brochure, and is applicable to those two exams only.
