National Testing Agency has extended the last date to fill and submit the online application form of UGC NET 2019, and CSIR NET 2019. Now the new last date to apply is October 15, 2019. Today was supposed to be the last date, when the fill online application form link was supposed to be deactivated.
Separate notifications have been published for UGC NET Dec 2019 application form last date extension and CSIR NET Dec 2019 application form last date extension. Both convey the new deadlines for form submission, fee payment. They also say that dates for form correction remain unchanged.
So for six more days, candidates who wish to appear in the UGC NET December 2019 for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor, can submit their applications at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. And those who want to take part in the Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2019 for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Lectureship (LS) / Assistant Professor need to submit their forms at csirnet.nta.nic.in.
For both the exams, NTA says that they decided to extend the registration deadline in view of the number of requests received.
The new dates are as follows. Last date to submit application form is October 15, 2019, 11.50 pm. And the last date for final transaction of fee through credit card or debit card or net banking or UPI or paytm is October 16, 2019, 11.50 pm.
The application fee for both the exams is Rs 1,000 for general or unreserved, Rs 500 for EWS and OBC NCL, and Rs 250 for SC, ST, PWD, transgender candidates. Registrations had been opened on September 9, 2019.
It may be noted that NTA UGC NET 2019 and NTA CSIR UGC NET 2019 application form corrections will begin on October 18, 2019. It will end on October 25, 2019. Dates for form correction remain unchanged. The form correction window will be a one time opportunity to make changes to incorrect details in the form.
After the form correction event, admit cards will be issued at ugcnet.nta.nic.in for UGC NET 2019, and csirnet.nta.nic.in for CSIR NET 2019 on November 9, 2019. The National Eligibility Test for humanities and social sciences subjects, UGC NET, will be held from December 2, 2019, to December 6, 2019. Whereas that for the science subjects, CSIR NET, will be held on December 15, 2019.
NTA also provides helpdesk number 0120 6895200. With that being one point of contact, the other is the query redressal system (QRS) available at candidate login.
These national level eligibility tests have been conducted for long in India. However NTA took over the responsibility of conducting the UGC NET in December 2018. Whereas the December 2019 exam is the first time that the agency is also conducting CSIR NET. From here onwards, the National Testing Agency only will be looking after these exams. However distribution of fellowship or any process post results is not the onus of the agency.
