IITs are not directly associated with any of the PSUs who offer jobs through the GATE exam. However the decision of PSUs to conduct recruitment through GATE was one of the biggest reasons that jumped the number of GATE applications many years ago. Today, most candidates who appear in the national level ME/M.Tech entrance exam, take the test primarily for the purpose of a job in PSU.
