National Institute of Technology (NIT) Surathkal has released official notice for NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) 2019. The examination will be held on May 26, 2019. The online registration for the examination will open on the official website, nimcet.in, from March 1, 2019. The last date to submit the application form is March 31, 2019.
So far, only the notice for the examination has been released and it is expected that the detailed information brochure for NIMCET 2019 will also release on March 01, 2019. Candidates interested in applying for the examination will have to make sure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.
Candidates who have completed B.Sc (Hons.) / BCA/ B.Sc/ BIT/ B.Tech are eligible to apply. Applicants in the final year of the graduation can also register their application. Along with it, it is necessary to have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in graduation degree. For reserved category students, there is relaxation 5% in the graduation scores.
National Institute of Technology releases the application form for NIMCET in online mode only. The registration window opens for one month time period. Candidates need to complete the 5-step application process in this specified deadline. First, test takers have to register with an email address and mobile number. On receiving the login credentials, the second step is the filling of application form.
Next, candidates have to upload the education certificates in addition to the photograph and signature. The penultimate step includes the payment of application fees via online modes. Finally, in the last step, it is advisable that candidates take a print out of application form for the future reference.
Along with the exam notification, NITK has also notified the examination fee for NIMCET 2019. For the general and OBC candidates, the fee is Rs 2200/-. Whereas for the SC/ST/ PWD candidates, the application fee is Rs 1100/-
NIMCET 2019 is a pen and paper based examination of 120 minutes. There are 120 Multiple Choice Questions in the exam. The paper is divided into four sections naming Mathematics, English, Computer Awareness, and Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning. The number of questions is 50, 20, 10, and 40 respectively. Candidates must prepare according to the syllabus and marking scheme of the exam.
NIMCET is conducted by National Institute of Technology for admission to MCA programme. On the basis of rank in the examination, candidates can secure a seat in any of the 11 NITs. The National Institute of Technology is Agartala, Kurukshetra, Bhopal, Karnataka, Durgapur, Warangal, Allahabad, Trichy, Jamshedpur, Calicut, Raipur, and Allahabad.
