The National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) has today, i.e. on September 09, 2021, announced the list of top Pharmacy colleges/institutes in India. The list was announced by the Education Minister of India Dharmendra Pradhan during a live webcast at 12 pm today. According to the list, Jamia Hamdard has been awarded the top position in the list, while Panjab University has been placed second.
The NIRF curated this list based on a variety of parameters, such as, Research & Professional Practice (RP), Learning & Resources (TLO), Teaching, Graduation Outcomes (GO), Peer Perception and Outreach and Inclusivity (OI).
Here is the list of top 20 Pharmacy colleges as per the NIRF 2021 ranking –

When one compares the NIRF list of the top Pharmacy colleges in 2021 to that of 2020, similarities can be seen, especially with respect to the top five pharmaceutical colleges in India. In fact, for three consecutive years, including 2021, Jamia Hamdard has been ranked at the No.1 position, while Panjab University has been ranked at No.2.
In case of positions, the last three years have witnessed intense competition between Birla Institute of Technology & Science – Pilani, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mohali, and Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. However, this time, Birla Institute of Technology & Science has been ranked at the No.3 position.
