National Institute of Design (NID) has allowed the candidates to apply for admission in B.Des, GDPD or M.Des courses via Design Aptitude Test (DAT) until November 21, 2019. Application with normal application fee were invited up until today, November 18, 2019 up to 2 pm. However, the candidates who are registering after this date, have to pay double the original application fee.
The application forms are available in the online mode only at admissions.nid.edu. After the application form submisison ends the window to make corrections in the form will open for 3 days, from November 21 to 23, 2019.
Note that the candidates who have applied for Ph.D. admisison are not given any extra time to fill the application form with late fee. The application fee in the late fee period is doubled which means now the candidates have to pay Rs. 4000 for applying for the B.Des and GDPD courses. For the same courses, the SC, ST, and PwD candidates of all categories have to pay Rs. 2000. The overseas candidates have to pay off Rs. 6000.
For applying in the M.Des course the application fee is now Rs. 4000 for one discipline and Rs. 8000 for 2 disciplines. On the other hand, the charge for SC, ST, and PwD candidates of all categories is Rs. 2000 for one discipline and Rs. 4000 for 2 disciplines. The overseas candidates have to pay Rs. 6000 for one discipline and Rs. 12000 for 2 disciplines.
Now to complete the application process, the candidates have to sign up using details of programme of study, nationality, applying in category, etc. After this, the candidates can access the application form of NID DAT 2020 and fill details. Towards the end, while submitting the form online transaction of application fee is to be done that will depend on the course of study and ofcourse the category of the candidates.
After this, from November 21, 2019, candidates who want to make any edits in their submitted form can access the correction facility that will open online on the same portal, admissions.nid.edu. Apart from information related to eligibility criteria, date of birth, category, email id and citizenship applied, all other details in form can be edited or changed. To do the form correction login details will be needed which are your email id and date of birth.
National Institute of Design (NID) is located in 7 cities of the nation Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Kurukshetra, Bhopal, Jorhat, and Vijayawada. The admission is based on their national level entrance test known as the Design Aptitude Test (DAT), DAT is held in 2 stages – Prelims and Mains. NID offers Bachelor of Design program, Master of Design program and Graduate Diploma Programme in Design program. To take admission in any of these courses the candidates have to be eligible and qualify DAT 2020.
Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2020 Prelims is scheduled to be held on December 29, 2019 all across the nation in pen and paper mode. Candidates qualifying in the prelims will move on for the mains that will be held from April 29 to May 03, 2020 for the B.Des and GDPD courses. The main exam date for M.des course is yet to be declared.
