NID 2020 Application Form Released; Apply before 7 November

NID 2020 application form has been released for B.Des, GDPD, M.Des programmes.

The National Institute of Design (NID) has released the application form for admission 2020 for B.Des, GDPD, M.Des, and PhD programs. There will be an entrance exam by the name of Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for B.Des, GDPD, M.Des, and there will be Design Research Test (DRT) for PhD. NID 2020 application form has been released online at admissions.nid.edu. Last date to apply online, without late fee, is November 07, 2019 till 02:00 PM.

Applications are invited from Indian and Foreign nationals. For admission in BDes/ GDPD, the candidates must have passed their class XII examination (higher secondary (10+2)) or equivalent. For applying for admission in M.Des programme, candidates must have passed 10+2 and Bachelors degree exam in any discipline.

Aspirants must submit the NID DAT 2020 application form before the prescribed last date. After the first deadline, the candidates will have to pay an extra amount along with the application fee to submit the form. Last date for submitting NID 2020 form with late fee is November 13, 2019.

It is a 04-step process to apply for the NID DAT 2020 admission and entrance exam. First the candidates need to sign up for the entrance exam by entering login details like nationality, category, disability, birth date, email, mobile. Once the registration is done, the candidates need to login with the obtained details. Next step for the candidate is to fill-in details in NID DAT application form by providing their personal and educational details. After entering all the relevant details, the candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature, caste / PwD Certificate, passport. The last and final step for the candidate is to pay the required amount of the application fee and submit the form.

The application fee for applying for BDes/ GDPD is Rs. 2000 for Unreserved category candidates and Rs. 1000 for reserved category candidates. However, candidates applying for MDes program has to pay an amount of Rs. 2000 for Unreserved category and Rs. 1000 for Reserved category (01 discipline), however, if a candidates wishes to apply for 02 discipline, they need to pay Rs. 4000 for unreserved category Rs. 2000 for reserved category. Candidates have to pay the application fee by online mode using Credit card/ debit card/ net banking or offline through Demand Draft.

The four-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programme is offered only at NID Ahmedabad. M.Des. programme is offered at NID campuses in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Gandhinagar. GDPD course is offered at NID campuses in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Prades, Assam.

Candidates are offered admission in all NID programmes on the basis of candidate’s performance in the entrance exam. DAT prelims 2020 is going to be held on November 07, 2019. It will be conducted at various test cities across India.

There are a toal 128 number of seats in BDes, and about 347 total number of seats in MDes programme.
