National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is filling 30 vacancies of Deputy Manager (Technical) on the basis of GATE 2019 scores. The autonomous govt body, functioning under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, will accept online application for this recruitment until October 31, 2019, 6 pm.
The number of vacancies are 3 for unreserved candidates, 4 for SC, 2 for ST, 8 for OBC NCL, and 13 for EWS. For NHAI recruitment 2019 through GATE, candidates with Civil Engineering degree can apply, who have a valid GATE 2019 score in civil engineering. Upper age limit for the post is 30. It may be noted that this recruitment is on the basis of past year’s GATE exam, and not the upcoming GATE 2020 one.
This position lies in level 10 of the 7th CPC (there are only 18 levels in the 7th CPC) which translates to a pre-revised pay band 3 that is Rs 15,600 – Rs 39,100 plus grade pay Rs 5,400.
In order to apply for the recruitment, eligible job seekers need to go to nhai.gov.in, and click about us in the menu. From the drop down, click vacancies, and then click current. In the current vacancies table, scroll down to the position name “recruitment of deputy manager (technical) on direct recruitment basis” and click the apply link against it.
The online application form is self-explanatory wherein applicant has to fill details asked in the form. Besides, one has to also upload documents including photograph, signature, class 10 certificate, category certificate, degree certificate, GATE score card. Unique reference number as well the application acknowledgement should be saved after submitting the form.
NHAI will shortlist candidates on the basis of their GATE scores. A cut off will be fixed for each category, at the discretion of the authority. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews. However, if the number of applications received happen to be large, then NHAI may decide to hold some process in order to restrict the number to be called for interview.
Cut off date to determine eligibility for the recruitment is same as the last date to apply. Before submitting the form, candidates have to agree to the declaration that says “I have carefully gone through the vacancy advertisement and I solemnly declare and undertake that all the information furnished by me is true, correct and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief. NHAI was established in the year 1988. The body looks after development and maintenance of national highways which are more than 92,000 km long. A day ago, Shri Sukhbir Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the new chairman of NHAI. Coincidentally, he is an IAS officer of the same batch as the year when the body was formed, in 1988. Before this, he was an additional secretary in the department of higher education, government of India.
