Finally, National Eligibility and Entrance Test 2017 Result has been declared. Central Board of Secondary Education, ended a long wait for medical aspirants by announcing result of NEET UG 2017 on 23rd June. It almost came as a surprise on Friday morning since CBSE had not notified any final date for NEET UG 2017 result till now. However, it was a pleasant surprise.
Result website of CBSE, cbseresults.nic.in has hosted NEET 2017 result. Candidates are required to log in with roll number and date of birth. On doing so they can see candidature details, score, and rank. There are two types of rank in score card namely All India Rank, and Category rank. Most counselling authorities are going to make use of All India Rank for admission to MBBS and BDS seats.
As was previously notified by CBSE, more than 11 lakh candidates have appeared in NEET exam which is a whopping 40% more than last time. It is a proof that inclusiveness of medical entrance exams into one has touched lives of several students. Before publishing result, CBSE had published answer key of NEET exam on 15th June and OMR sheets on 13th June. Candidates had been given a chance to challenge OMR response sheets and also answer keys.
In official answer key, CBSE had identified 2 wrong questions each of 4 marks. Hence it was assumed that 8 bonus marks are to be given to students. Final score has been calculated on basis of final answer keys that were created after students had submitted discrepancies observed. Some questions were challenged by students backed by academicians.
This marks the end of medical entrance exams for admission 2017-2018 session. Only three medical entrance exams for undergraduate admissions were held this year namely by AIIMS, JIPMER, and CBSE. The first two are only for respective institutes, AIIMS entrance exam leads to admission to AIIMS New Delhi and 6 other AIIMS, JIPMER entrance exam is for JIPMER Puducherry and Karaikal. Result of all medical entrance exams are now out.

Counselling is of two types which are centralized counselling and state counselling. For 15% all India quota seats, student has to participate in MCC NEET UG 2017 counselling, whereas for state quota seats they will have to go to state counselling authority website.
The candidates who qualify NEET 2017 will be allotted seats in medical colleges in Punjab as per their NEET scorecard. Candidates applying under 15% all India quota and Assam Quota are required to attend the counselling process conducted by Medical Counselling Committee of DGHS.
