The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has responded to the query of students regarding the centre change for the NEET PG exam 2021. According to the students, at the time of NEET registration, a lot of students have opted for the exam centres located at the place they were doing internships. However, in the present scenario, the internship of maximum students has been over. Citing this, the candidates have demanded a change in the centre of the respective exam. However, as per the latest reply by the NBE, the candidates were provided with an option of “others” in the drop-down menu while choosing the centre for examination.
All those candidates who have opted for Other options are been allotted the exam centre as per their correspondence address. With this reply by NBA, it is also clear that now no request for centre change for the NEET PG exam will be entertained any further. For those who are unaware, the NEET PG 2021 is scheduled for September 11, 2021, from 09.00 AM to 12.00 PM.
Earlier, the government has postponed the NEET PG exam multiple times amid the surge in the Covid-19 pandemic. The exam is expected to commence in 260 cities across 800 test centres for eligible applicants. The admit card for the NEET PG exam will be released afresh for all the candidates.
Apart from the centre change request, a lot of students belonging to the reserved quota i.e. OBC/SC/ST/EWS have also approached NBE regarding the reopening of the NEET PG application form 2021. The Union government has decided to provide reservation benefits to the OBC and EWS quota students in the all-India medical and dental seats. As per the government, from now onwards the OBC category is given a 27% quota, while students who belong to EWS/SC/ST quota will be getting reservations of 10%, 15%, 7.5% respectively. Similarly, for the physically handicapped the reservation quota is applicable at 5% under the All India Quota.
With this decision, a lot of candidates have approached the National Board of Education (NBE) to reopen the NEET PG registration application form. The reason provided by the students was that they have filled the application form for the unreserved quota and now with this decision they wish to choose their OBC category.
