NEET PG 2021

National Board of Examinations (NBE) issued a public notice on March 01, 2021, regarding test centres for the National Eligibility Entrance Test Post Graduate (NEET PG) 2021 examination. The notice was released on the official website of the conducting body i.e., natboard.edu.in. According to the notice, NBE is scheduled to conduct the NEET-PG 2021 examination ‪on April 18, 2021‬. Moreover, the allotment of test centres for the examination shall be done on a first-come-first-serve basis.

NEET-PG 2021 application process began on February 23, 2021, from 3:00 pm. The same process shall continue ‪till March 15, 2021,‬ for the national-level entrance exam scheduled ‪on April 18, 2021‬. During the online application process, candidates are instructed to choose the city where they prefer appearing for the exam. This choice of the city shall primarily depend on the availability of test centres in that particular city. Subsequently, allotment shall be done on first-come-first-serve basis.

Clause 7.5 and 8.18 of the information bulletin of NEET-PG 2021 imply that in case of the testing centre not being available in the State/UT preferred by candidates, they can choose the ‘OTHERS’ option from the list. This option is given in the list of States/UTs which is to be selected while submitting the online application form.

NBE further reassured candidates that they shall carry out all efforts for allotting centres in the state corresponding to the address. Furthermore, candidates opting for the ‘OTHERS’ option shall be allotted centres within their state, according to the availability of testing seats. There may be a possibility that a testing seat is not available in the corresponding state due to logistic, administrative or other reasons. In that case, the centre shall be allocated in the neighbouring or nearby state.

NBE shall be informing candidates opting for the ‘OTHERS’ option about their testing city on or before March 25, 2021. NEET-PG 2021 registration began on February 23, 2021, and the last date to register for the exam is March 15, 2021, up to 11:55 PM. A correction facility for all candidates shall be made available from March 19 to 21, 2021. They may also get a final chance to edit their photograph, signature and thumb impression from April 02 to 04, 2021. Subsequently, the examination admits card is expected to be released on April 12, 2021.

NEET-PG is a national-level entrance exam conducted every year for candidates who wish to pursue postgraduate courses in the field of medicine. By qualifying for the entrance exam, candidates can get admission to prestigious medical institutions across the country. However, the admission process is based on merit rank and candidate category.
