The National Testing Agency has confirmed the eligibility criteria for NEET 2019 candidates. Candidates who want to seek admission in the MBBS, BDS programs must know the eligibility criteria. As per the latest reports, NTA is releasing the NEET 2019 Application Form today. So, for the candidates who are interested in taking admission through NEET 2019 can should know whether they are eligible for the exam or not.
Note that there are no major changes in the eligibility criteria in NEET 2019 from NEET 2018. Most of the part of the NEET 2019 Eligibility Criteria is the same as the 2018 session. To check, whether the candidate can fill the application form or not is by checking the age limit, educational qualifications, and the number of attempts done by the candidate.
Age Limit
The age limit for the NEET aspirant id from 17 years to 25 years. So, the candidates who had born on or before 01 January 2003 are eligible for the applications.
The upper age limit is 25 years for the other candidates except for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH. For them, the upper age limit is 30 years. UR candidates must be born on or between 05/06/07 May 1994 and 01 Jan 2003 while SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates should have the date of birth on or between 05/06/07 May 1989 and 01 Jan 2003.
Nationality
Considering the nationality, the candidate must be Indian. Other than this, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons with Indian Origin (PIOs), Foreign Nationals candidates can also apply.
Those candidates who are from J&K are not eligible for 15% All India Quota seats.
Educational Qualification
Talking about educational qualifications, General category candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in physics, chemistry, biology/ biotechnology. For the SC/ ST/ OBC candidates, the minimum marks er 40% while PWD category should have 45% marks.
NTA has also provided the codes for the candidates from 1 to 7. The codes are for those who have passed 0+2 study included physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology.
Earlier, the candidates who had passed 10+2 from Open School or as private candidates were not eligible to appear for ‘National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test. But now the restriction has been removed and they are also eligible for NEET 2019 subject to the outcome of Special Leave Petitions/Appeals filed by the Medical Council of India.
Number of Attempts
There is no attempts limit for NEET 2019. Candidates can appear for the exams any number of time they want. Previously, the number of attempts was only 3. So, the candidates were eligible to appear for the exams only 3 times.
According to the latest news, the application form for NEET 2019 has been released. The last date to apply for NEET 2019 is November 30, 2018. Candidates will be given the chance to correct the form and to pay the application fee. NEET 2019 exam will be held on May 05, 2019.
