NCERT is hiring for head publication, editor, assistant editor, editorial assistant, professional assistant, computer operator, store keeper, proofreader. For these posts, the National Council of Educational Research and Training has advertised 1, 2, 3, 1, 1, 1, 4, 1 vacancies respectively. Overall there are 15 vacancies.
Although the number of vacancies is low, the pay band of the positions is high. To start with, the post of head publication is eligible for level 12, pay band 3. As per the notification the scale of pay is level 12 pb-III of Rs. 15600-39100/- + grade pay Rs 7600. Editor is eligible for level 11 that is pre-revised Rs 15600 – 39100/- + grade pay Rs. 6600. Likewise assistant editor will get level 10 pre-revised Rs 15600 – 39100/- + grade pay Rs 5400.
Whereas other posts require higher qualification, there are two that are open for class 10th pass. Store keeper position is for class 10th pass candidates with 5 years experience in procurement, inspection, custody, maintenance, verification of stores. And the post of proofreader is open for class 10th pass candidates with knowledge of typography.

Candidates who are willing to apply for these posts should meet the prescribed qualifications, eligibility and experience, and fill the form attached with the notification.
It is mandatory to send the bio-data with full particulars along with the self-attested copies of the requisite documents and certificates. Candidate should not forget to paste one passport size photograph with the application form.
Candidates who are already associated with the government service, should ensure that they send their application through the prescribed channel. If not, then their application form will be rejected.
Application fee is Rs 200, which a candidate has to pay through the DD/IPO paid in favour of “Secretary, NCERT at New Delhi”. Those who are applying should keep in mind that the examination fee is non-refundable, irrespective of the circumstances.
Candidates who belongs to the reserved categories listed in the notification, as well as female candidates do not have to pay the application fee. Fee concession is given to the candidates from SC, ST, PwD, female. Whereas age concession is given to SC, ST, OBC, PWD, ex-servicemen, in accordance with the government’s instructions.
After scrutinizing the application forms, eligible candidates will be called for written test, technical aptitude test, and practical aptitude test. While coming for the exam, candidates should keep in mind that no TA/DA will be paid to them, they themselves have to bear the travelling expense.
