Naval Dockyard, Ministry of Defence, Navy is inviting application from IT qualified Indian nationals for apprenticeship training. The last date to register candidature at apprenticeship.gov.in against 275 vacancies is December 5, 2019.
There are reservation for the scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), other backward class (OBC), economically weaker section of society (EWS), persons with disabilities (PwD) and ex-servicemen (ESM).
Out of the total, there are 115 seats for UR, 28 for EWS, 75 for OBC, 39 for SC, 18 for ST, 8 for PwD and the same for ESM are 8.
Naval Dockyard Apprentices School is conducting the apprenticeship training program for 13 trades. These are electrician, electronics mechanic, fitter, instrument mechanic, machinist, painter (general), R&A/C mechanic, welder (gas and electric), carpenter, foundryman, mechanic (diesel), sheet metal worker and pipe fitter.
Applying for the apprenticeship training program for the above trades, one has to register themselves at apprenticeship.gov.in web portal. On the home page, click on the apprentice’s tab and select the candidate registration from the drop-down list. Once after completing the registration, login again to activate the registration. For this select the “apprentice activation” under the apprentice tab. Fill up the details in the form and click on the activate button.
Online registration number sent on the email id along with the link to select the trade for one is applying. The next step is to authenticate the form. Select the “apprentice authentication” in the under the apprentice module and click on the authentication button in the form to complete the application process.
As per the guideline of the training school applicants have to take out the print out of the submitted form along with the two downloaded formats of hall ticket. The same is provided under the advertisement released. Check the adv. no: DAS (V)/01/19 on the official website.
The notification says ” Apprentice Profile, two original hall tickets and all relevant documents along with check-off list placed at Part – III of Annexure – I of this Advertisement indicating status of enclosed documents are required to be forwarded to “The Officer-inCharge (for Apprenticeship), Naval Dockyard Apprentices School, VM Naval Base S.O., P.O., Visakhapatnam – 530 014, Andhra Pradesh” by Post so as to reach at DAS(V) by 12 Dec 2019. This would be considered as the off-line application for the purpose of enrollment. “
Ministry of Defence, Navy guidelines say for being eligible for applying one must be matriculation passed with 50% marks. Along with it, ITI certificate in the relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT with 65% aggregate.
Age limit is such that general and OBC candidates born between April 1, 1999, and April 1, 2006 will be eligible. SC, ST candidates born between April 1, 1994, and April 1, 2006 will be eligible.
Selection procedure for selecting the eligible candidates comprises of a written examination, interview and a medical examination. Written test is scheduled to be conducted on January 29, 2020, and whose result will be out by January 31, 2020.
The interview for the selected candidates for the apprenticeship training program will commence from February 4, 2020, and will continue till February 15, 2020.
As per the dates in the official website, the training of the selected candidates will commence from April 1, 2020. The guidelines clearly mention that there is no obligation for Naval Dockyard to employ the apprentices on completion of training.
