After the previous semester’s online assessment software glitch, students from Mumbai University fear that the Mumbai University Result for winter semester will also be delayed. The prolonged postponing of previous semester result has left a bad taste in the mouth. But the official from the MU ensures that the result will be announced by next week, as out of 14,07,035 answer books, 10,49,303 have been checked.

So far, MU has announced the result of 129 exams, out of 402 exams. Hence, only 2% of the students, out of 3.76 lakh, got their result. The University has not announced the result for any important subject. The majority of students, almost 1.69 lakh, waiting for the result are from commerce and management stream. From science and technology faculty, 1.33 lakh await results.

As per the Maharashtra Government norms, the University is supposed to declare the result within 45 days from the conclusion of the exams but now it seems that the result for some courses will be announced after the deadline.

To this, Arjun Ghatule, the controller of examination, told media that the 45 days time limit should be counted from the date of the last exam and as per that the University will announce the result in time. The teachers at the University were busy with the internal exams as well, hence, lead to a little delay. He also added that unlike the last exam, the result will now be announced 100 percent. The focus is to declare the result for all the students in a particular course, at once.

Ghatule also threw some light on the pending re-valuation. He told media that over 4500 applications for re-valuation from the last year’s March-April exam are pending and for it, MU is starting a special drive. The target is to clear the backlog by the next week and to do so, the University will put a dedicated team of professors on the task. Out of the total pending re-valuation applications, 1411 are from the science stream and 1007 are from arts streams.

Dr. Devanand Shinde, the Vice-Chancellor, further added that in order to achieve 100 percent results and that too accurate, some time is needed. In few courses, the balance papers are causing minor delays. Yet, the University will ensure that the impact of the last semester does not affect March-April exams.

The Mumbai University students are advised to stay calm. The result will be announced next week and until then there is no point in taking the stress. The University will inform you as soon as it declares the result and we are sure you will pass with flying colors. All the best!

It is almost 4 months Mumbai university havent declared the results of part time management course (MMM, MHRM, MFM). Exams got over on 4th December 2017 and until March 26th still the results are not declared. God help Mumbai University. I think its time to act against the Mumbai University and the management who cant handle the things in the univesity.

Somebody needs to be held ACCOUNTABLE for the delay of 5 months in declaring the results. These has become a norm for the university year after year. No responsibilities. No questions. Just keep passing the buck to the guy on the next table or another phone line. If the varsity itself is incapable of handling administrative workload or keeping with deadlines, it reflects the values of its education system. Get the incompetent people out of the university and hire people based on merit.
