West Bengal Municipal Service Commission has published recruitment notification vide advt no. 08 of 2019. MSCWB notifies that it will conduct recruitment examination 2019 for different category of posts under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
The commission is inviting applications in online mode through mscwb.org. Online form can be filled from December 2 to 31, 2019.
There are a total of 89 vacancies. Distributed between six posts. MSCWB has published complete details of vacancy distribution, eligibility, desirable qualifications, application form submission process in the recruitment notification.
Maximum vacancies, 36, exist in the post of sub assistant engineer civil. It has 19 vacancies for UR, 1 for UR PWD, 7 for SC, 2 for ST, 4 for OBCA , and 3 for OBC B. Diploma holders in civil engineering upto 37 years old can apply.
Then there are 23 vacancies each in the posts of sub assistant engineer mechanical and sub assistant engineer electrical. The former has 12 UR, 1 UR WD, 4 SC, 2 ST, 3 OBC A, 1 OBC B vacancies. Whereas the latter has 12 UR, 6 SC, 1 ST, 2 OBC A, 2 OBC B vacancies. SAE mechanical post requires applicant to have diploma in mechanical engineering, and SAE electrical requires diploma in electrical engineering.
There are 3 vacancies for assistant engineer civil, 2 for assistant engineer mechanical, and 2 for assistant engineer electrical. AE civil post has 1 vacancy each for UR, SC, OBCA. The other two have 1 vacancy each for UR and SC. A degree in civil is needed for AE civil, a degree in mechanical for AE mechanical, and degree in electrical is needed for AE electrical.
The pay band is 4 for sub assistant engineer posts, that is in the Rs 9000 – 40500 range with grade Rs 4400. Whereas assistant engineer is in pay band 4A with Rs 15600 – 42000 and grade pay Rs 5400.
Age as on January 1, 2019 for all the posts should be less than 37 years. However upper age limit is relaxed for SC, ST, OBC A, OBC B.

MSCWB recruitment 2019 has an application fee of Rs 150 plus processing charges of Rs 50, and Rs 20 bank charges towards challan deposit, for UR, OBCA , OBC B candidates. SC and ST candidates only need to pay processing charges of Rs 50 and bank charges of Rs 20.
Application fee, processing charges will be colleged by all the branches of United Bank of India and the same has to be deposited to account number 0088010367936 (to be verified once from the official notification before payment) through challan generated after online application form submission at mscwb.org. Fee may also be paid online.
Last date for registration and generation of challan is December 31, 2019. Application fee with processing charge should be deposited in the bank by January 2, 2020. Application form submission must be completed by January 3, 2020 in order to compete in the MSCWB recruitment 2019-2020 for getting a position in Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
