Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has postponed the practical exams for class 10th and 12th until further notice. Along with the MP Board Class 10 and 12 practical examinations, the board has also deferred the  practical exams for Higher Secondary Vocational Courses, Physical Education Training and Diploma in Pre-school Education (DPSE) exam. The decision to postpone the practical examinations has been taken in view of the COVID-19 curfew in the state until May 15.

The Board intimated to the students regarding the same through the official Twitter handle that “Keeping in view the COVID-19 crisis and the Curfew (lockdown) in the state till May 15, 2021, the practical examinations of the Board are postponed till further orders.”

pic.twitter.com/YFvgwDSwhi

It further added that the dates for conducting the postponed practical examinations will be announced separately after carefully considering the current pandemic situation in the state.

Earlier, on April 26, MP Board postponed the class 10th and 12th theory examinations. The class 10th and 12th MP Board exams were scheduled to be held from April 30 and May 1, 2021. However, due to the rising COVID-19 cases in the state, the board decided to postpone the examinations.

Besides this, MP Board is also considering various alternative ways for Class 10 and Class 12 exams. A decision with respect to conducting the Class 10, 12 board exams will be soon announced.

The Madhya Pradesh School Education Department also earlier canceled the exams for class 9th and 11th students. The students will now be evaluated based on their performance in the revision test held in November 2020 and the half-yearly exams that were conducted in the month of February this year. As per an official statement released, the final results for classes 9 and 11  will be calculated on the basis of the best of five subjects. Students who fail to obtain minimum passing marks, i.e 33 percent marks in more than one subject, a maximum of 10 grace marks will also be provided to them in such a case.
