In a recent announcement made by Madhya Pradesh Board, it has been clarified that the examination for classes 10th and 12th will be held on an old pattern. The change in exam pattern has been canceled by the state government under “Section-9 of Madhya Pradesh Secondary Education Board Act”. This decision as made by the state government is going to help lakhs of students who are preparing to appear for the upcoming MP Board exams 2021.
Under the new examination pattern, the long-form questions were removed and in place, objective type questions were included. According to the provision, 30-30 questions of objective type questions are asked in all the subjects. Moreover, students would have to answer these questions on the OMR sheet within a duration of 1 hour.
As per the old examination pattern, the paper for class 10th is of a total of 100 marks for each subject out of which 80 marks will be allotted to the theory exam and 20 marks is of Internal Assessment/Project work/Practical Examination.
To ensure that the students do not face any difficulty in the examination, the board made changes in the exam pattern. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the schools were shut down in March 2020 which led to online classes and students suffered an academic loss due to this. However, this decision has been repealed now.
