The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell will conduct Maharashtra Common Entrance Test MHT CET 2020 for admission to undergraduate programs of engineering, pharmacy, agriculture in academic session 2020-21. The exam will be in online mode.
CET Cell has decided to organize the exam over a period of 16 to 20 days in the second and third weeks in the month of May in the year 2020. Exact dates of the exam shall be finalized after looking at the other exam dates that may cause conflict for students.
It is further to be noted that the MHT CET 2020 will be held for two groups PCM and PCB, in more than one sessions. To eliminate the differences that arise due to different sessions, the CET cell shall use normalization method for ranking. Documents explaining the normalization formula and percentile method will be published on the website mahacet.org.
The most recent notification at mahacet.org invites institutions of the state, government or aided or unaided, to express interest in being exam centers for the common entrance test. Such institutes who wish to let the CET cell Mumbai utilize their computer rooms and labs as MHT CET 2020 exam centers need to submit a form uploaded at mahacet.org. It has to be submitted via email to [email protected]
Minimum hardware requirements of PCs, for the purpose of being used for MHT CET are that their processor should be intel dual core and above. RAM should be 4GB and above. HDD space needs to be 250GB. Motherboard should have PXE enabled LAN card. The monitor should be 16 inches and above, and should support screen resolution of 1024 by 768. Keyboard should not be multimedia.
The centre should have network switch 1GBPS LAN cable, CAT6 distribution layer switch should be manageable and loop prevention enabled. Network architecture needs to be modular network, physically separate for assessment. Other than these technical specifications, the centre should have drinking water facility, proper electricity supply, generator for backup.
Last year MHT CET was held from May 2 to 13. Online application form for the exam was released on January 1, and accepted until March 31. After the exam, result was announced on June 4. The exam was of 90 minutes. There were three papers. Paper 1 was mathematics with 50 questions of 100 marks. Then paper 2 had 50 questions of physics, and 50 of chemistry, for a total of 100 marks. Paper 3 had botany and zoology questions, 50 each, for a total of 100 marks.

This includes MBA CET, MCA CET, M.Arch CET, MHMCET, PGP CET, B.Ed CET, M.Ed CET, MPED CET, BHMCT CET, AAC CET, BA-BEd CET, LLB CET, BPED CET, LLB CET. After the exams, the cell also organizes common admission process, that is counselling for admissions.
