Meghalaya Police has published recruitment notification for 1,015 vacancies. For the recruitment, online application form has also been released at megpolice.gov.in. Applications can be submitted until December 14, 2019.
It is in fact the office of the additional director general of police and chairman central recruitment board Meghalaya, under the government of Meghalaya that has issued the advertisement. The authorities convey that the recruitment process will be as per transparency in recruitment process (TRP) policy.
To view the notification and to apply, one has to go to megpolice.gov.in, and click notice board in the menu, and under it, click recruitment. On the next page, click “advertisement for various posts of Meghalaya police department 2019”.
The next page has direct link for online application form, as well as advertisement, a pdf file. Clicking on online application link leads to the Government of Meghalaya Central Recruitment Board, Meghalaya Police Recruitment 2019 page. Here, there are 12 different online forms. There are 4 forms for SF-10 group, 7 for AB/UB group, and 1 for follower group.
In the SF-10 group, application forms are available for ABSI (male), commando (male), commando (female), signal operator. Then under AB/UB group, registration links are separate for UBSI, UB constable, MPRO operator, fireman, driver fireman, AB / BN constable, and driver constables. Follower group (male) has a single form for followers.
Vacancy distribution is also group and post wise.
Under AB/UB group, there are 41 vacancies of UB sub inspector. UB category posts unarmed branch constable has 268 vacancies, firemen male post has 37, driver firemen male post has 25 vacancies, and MPRO operator constable has 21 vacancies. AB category posts are armed branch constables or BN constables with 383 vacancies, driver constable male posts with 19 vacancies.
Under the SF 10 group comes SF10 ABSI male post with 3 vacancies. Then SF10 commandos posts are there with commando constable male with 98 vacancies, commando constable female with 41 vacancies, and signal operator post with 5 vacancies.
In the follower group are follower male with 64 vacancies, and follower SF10 male with 10 vacancies.
Class 5 pass candidates are eligible to apply against follower male (AB / UB group and SF10 group). They should be 18 to 27 years old.
Class 9 passed candidates can apply for armed branch constable or batallion constable, driver constable (male) posts. Age limit is 18 to 21 years.
Class 10 pass candidates are eligible for commando / constable operator (male and female) posts. Where the age limit is again 18 to 21 years.
Class 12 pass candidates can apply for unarmed branch constable, fireman, driver FM (male), MPRO operator and signal operator (SF 10).
Graduation is required to apply for UB SI (male and female), and SF10 ABSI (male) posts.
For each post, the application fee is Rs 50. After applying, candidates will be first issued admit card for the physical efficiency test which will be conducted for Meghalaya Police recruitment. This will be followed by written exam for most posts, and trade tests in some. Final round will be interview.
The law enforcement body of Meghalaya, the Meghalaya Police, was established after the state came into being as a separate entity from Assam. The total sanctioned strength is over 12,911. Headquarters of Meg Police is in Shillong.
