The Directorate of Educational Research and Training has extended the last date of filling the MTET 2021 online application on the official portal, megeducation.gov.in till August 31, 2021, at 05.00 PM. It has also notified that offline applications for MTET 2021 can be submitted at the respective centres during office hours. Earlier, the last date of filling the MTET 2021 was August 19, 2021. Although the MTET 2021 exam is scheduled for August 28, 2021, there is no official announcement regarding the postponement of the same.
MTET 2021 is a Teacher Eligibility Test and is held to provide eligibility certificates to candidates at Lower Primary(Class 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Class 6 to 8) levels. The eligibility for Lower Primary is qualifying class 12th exam with at least 50% marks in aggregate along with a 2 year D.EL.Ed. Similarly, for the Upper Primary level teacher, the candidates must have qualified Graduation with 50% marks in aggregate along with the 2 years D.EL.ED or 1-year B.Ed course.
The candidates willing to apply for the MTET 2021 can do so by following the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: The candidates have to visit the official website, megeducation.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, they have to find the link to the Online Application for Meghalaya MTET 2021 under the “Directorate of Educational Research and Training’ section and click on the same.
Step 3: Thereafter, the candidates will be redirected to the online application form wherein they need to choose the level for which they wish to apply.
Step 4: Post this, candidates need to add candidate’s details, candidate’s scanned photograph in the range of 20kb to 300kb, disability status, address as per aadhaar card, educational qualification, professional qualification, other services etc.
Step 5: Next, candidates need to read the declaration, tick the agree on the checkbox, enter the captcha code and submit the application form. Upon submission, an acknowledgement slip having the application number will generate that candidate need to retain.
For the payment of the application fee, candidates need to go through the acknowledgement slip generated. It comprises the basic steps candidates have to follow to pay the application fee using SBI Collect. The application for applying for a single paper, Lower Primary/Upper Primary is Rs 800/-. However, if candidates wish to apply for both papers, then they need to pay Rs 1600/-. The application fee for SC/ST category for a single paper is Rs 400/- and for both the papers is Rs 800/-.
Meghalaya MTET 2021 is offline paper conduct for providing eligibility certificates to candidates at two levels i.e. Paper 1 for Lower Primary and Paper 2 for Upper primary. The exam of Paper 1 will have five subjects: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Khasi/Garo/Assamese/Bengali/Hindi/Nepali), Language II(English), Mathematics and Environmental Studies. There will be 150 questions in total with 30 questions from each subject.
Similarly, for Paper 2 questions will be asked from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Khasi/Garo/Assamese/Bengali/Hindi/Nepali), Language II(English, Mathematics and Science/Social Science. The number of questions in this paper will also be 150. However, the first three subjects will account for 90 questions and the last paper will have 60 questions. The duration to complete the MTET exam is 150 minutes.
