Manipur Public Service Commission has commenced the application process for the 2016 Civil Service Mains exam. Candidates who qualified the Preliminary stage of the 2016 Civil Service exam are eligible to apply for the Main exam. MPSC has officially notified that the Main exam is scheduled to be conducted tentatively in the month of October-November 2020. In an official public notification dated August 27, 2020, the Commission has officially indicated that online applications for the Main exam will be conducted from August 28 to September 13, 2020. Eligible candidates can apply online at empsconline.gov.in.
MPSC conducted the Prelims of the Civil Service exam early in 2016. However, the Mains exam, that was scheduled to be conducted in 2016 following the Prelims was postponed. Thereafter the Commission rescheduled the exam but eventually did not conduct the exam as per schedule.
Following a CBI probe due to the irregularities in conducting the Civil Service exam of the state and subsequent directives issued by the Supreme Court to conduct the Main exam as early as possible, the Commission officially published a public notice dated August 14, 2020, that it will conduct the Manipur Civil Service Combined Competitive (Main) Examination 2016 afresh. The Supreme Court directed the Commission to conduct the Main examination for the 1130 candidates who were shortlisted through the MPSC Civil Service Preliminary examination, 2016.
The Commission has indicated in it will conduct the examination tentatively during the month of October – November 2020. Although the exact dates of the exam are yet to be announced, the Commission has commenced the application process for the Main exam today i.e. August 28, 2020, at the website empsconline.gov.in.
Candidates who qualified the Preliminary stage of the MPSC Civil Service exam in 2016 are eligible to apply for the Main stage exam by paying an application fee as designated by the Commission in the official notification and the latest public notice. However, candidates who qualified in the Prelims of the 2016 Civil Service Exam and applied for the Main exam earlier are exempted from the payment of fees. On the other hand, candidates who did not apply for the MPSC Civil Service Main Examination, 2016 are required to apply again through the website as specified here.
An application fee of Rs 300 must be paid by such candidates who qualified the Prelims and wants to appear for the Main exam. However. the application fee of Rs 300 is only for candidates belonging to Unreserved and OBC candidates. SC/ST candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 150 only. The application fee can be paid only online.
