Lok Sabha has published notification for recruitment to 3 vacancies. Parliament of India, Recruitment Branch, Lok Sabha Secretariat invites applications from qualified candidates. Complete application forms must be sent in such a way so as to be received by the authorities by January 13, 2020.
However for candidates from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti districts and Pangi Sub-division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, the last date for receipt of forms will be 7 days later than the date for others.
There is 1 vacancy each in the posts of curatorial assistant, conservation assistant, technical assistant. All the posts are level 7 posts with pay matrix Rs 44900 – 142400. Upper age limit of applicants is set as 27 years.
The curatorial assistant post is open to such jobseekers who have either a master’s degree in history with specialisation in modern indian history, or master’s degree in museology, or a bachelor’s degree in history. Plus, a 1-year experience in a reputed museum is required from masters degree holders, and 2 years from bachelors degree holders.
For the conservation assistant post, candidates with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry are eligible. Provided they have 2 years experience in a reputed conservation laboratory or museum.
The third post, that of technical assistant, requires candidates with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or applications to apply. Experience required is of 2 years in operation, maintenance and regular upgradation of computers accessories.
Lok Sabha recruitment branch will hold aptitude tests with three parts A, B, C for all the posts. However the scheme of exam differs for each post.
Those who apply for curatorial assistant will sit in the exam which will have part A as exhibits in parliament museum of 30 marks, part B will be museum techniques of 40 marks, and part C will be proficiency in computers of 30 marks. This test will be of 45 minutes.
Conservation assistant aptitude test will have part A as exhibits in parliament museum of 30 marks, part B as museum techniques including conservation of museum artefacts of 40 marks, and part C will be proficiency in computers of 30 marks. This exam will be of 45 minutes too.
The aptitude test for technical assistant will have part A as exhibits in parliament museum of 20 marks, proficiency in projectors and other electronic equipments of 40 marks, and proficiency in computers of 40 marks. Duration for this exam will be 40 minutes.
Prior to the test, candidates will be shown around the parliament museum. In all the tests, proficiency test in computers will be practical. After the test, those who qualify will be called for interviews.
