Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is in the process of declaring result of mains exam for Apprentice Development Officers (ADO) recruitment 2019. However first, it will hold the exam at those centres where it was postponed. Today, LIC has announced the date of postponed exam as September 22, 2019. That is, at all those centres in JnK, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka due to floods and rains where the mains exam could not be held on August 11, 2019, there it will be held on this date. LIC ADO Mains result 2019 will be declared after that.
For the mains exam, around 1.76 lakh candidates were shortlisted. Now on the basis of result of mains, candidates will be called for interview. There will be sectional as well as overall cut off in mains exam. The interview will be a maximum of 37 marks maximum. Score in mains exam as well as interview will count towards final selection.
The cities where this exam could not be held earlier and will now be conducted on the second-last Sunday of the month are as follows: Jammu and Kashmir – Jammu, Samba, Srinagar; Maharashtra – Kolhapur, Kerala – entire state; Karnataka – Belgaum, Dharwad. Candidates who had qualified as per the preliminary exam held in July, but their centres were in these cities, will now be able to take the mains exam.
LIC has not clarified whether it will issue fresh call letters to candidates for this exam or not. However it is expected that it will. If issued, candidates will have to download it from licindia.in by accessing relevant admit card download link, and logging in with registration number and password.

Exam pattern and syllabus for the postponed exam remains the same as the one held in August. However, questions will be different. Candidates who are appearing through open market category will attempt three papers. First will be reasoning ability & numerical ability. Second will be general knowledge, current affairs and english language with special emphasis on grammar and vocabulary. And third will be insurance and financial marketing awareness with special emphasis on knowledge of life insurance and financial sector. Each paper will have 50 questions, of 50 marks. To be done in 2 hours.
Agents category candidates will also have a 2 hour long exam with three papers. First will be reasoning and numerical ability with 25 questions of 10 marks. Second will be general knowledge, current affairs and english language with special emphasis on grammar and vocabulary with 25 questions of 15 marks. Third will be elements of insurance and marketing of insurance with 50 questions of 125 marks.
Employee category candidates will have three papers like others. first , reasoning and numerical ability with 25 questions of 25 marks. Second, same as the second section above, with 25 questions of 25 marks. Third section will be practice and principle of insurance marketing with 50 questions of 100 marks.
LIC ADO recruitment 2019 is for 8,581 vacancies. The vacancies are divided zone wise. There are 525 vacancies in Central Zonal Office Bhopal, 922 in Eastern Zonal Office Kolkata, 701 in East Central Zonal Office Patna. Then there are 1,251 vacancies in South Central Zonal Office Hyderabad, 1,130 in Northern Zonal Office New Delhi, 1,042 in North Central Zonal Office Kanpur. Southern Zonal Office Chennai has 1,257 vacancies and Western Zonal Office Mumbai has 1,753 vacancies.
