Kuvempu University, Karnataka, has published the notification for PhD admission 2019-2020. The varsity invites eligible candidates to apply for PhD full time and part time programs in various disciplines. Kuvempu University PhD notification enlists 163 positions in the various faculties and departments.
Registration and admission to the doctoral program will be as per norms governing Kuvempu University PhD admissions. Last date to submit filled in application form is December 24, 2019.
For the purpose of selection, there will be an entrance test as well.

Application fee for Kuvempu University PhD admission is Rs 1000; it being Rs 750 for SC, ST, Cat 1 candidates. The fee amount needs to remitted to the S.B. account of “Finance Officer, Kuvempu University” (A/c no. 54023036291) at SBI Jnanasahyadri, (IFSC code SBIN0040759) through RTGS/NEFT.
Fee may also be paid via DD in favour of “Finance Officer, Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta” payable at SBI, Jnanasahyadri Shankaraghatta – 577451. Candidates should verify spellings, details of fee payment from the official Kuvempu University PhD Notification before making the fee payment.
The application form has fields for name, address, email id, phone number, passport size photograph, category, PG exam passed, whether passed M.Phil or not, GATE / UGC / CSIR NET, JRF, SET, INSPIRE FELLOWSHIP exam cleared, sponsored or not, foreign national or not, research work full time or part time.
As per the Kuvempu University notification for PhD enrollment, candidates who have 55% in aggregate or equivalent grade in graduation, masters or equivalent exam are eligible. SC, ST, OBC candidates need to have 50% instead of 55%.
Foreign nationals shall be exempt from the entrance test.
There are a total of 163 vacancies in PhD programs in a total of 32 departments. Faculty and department wise the breakup of positions are also given.
Faculty of Arts has 1 vacancy in kannada, 10 in english, 2 in economics, 2 in sociology, 6 in history and archaeology, 4 in journalism and mass communication.
In Faculty of Commerce, there are 4 vacancies in M.Com, and 3 in MBA.
Faculty of Science and Technology has 23 vacancies in physics, 10 in chemistry, 8 in Industrial Chemistry. Then there are 3 in mathematics, 18 in applied botany, 11 in zoology. After that there are 2 vacancies in biochemistry, 4 in electronics, 6 in MCA and computer science. 2 vacancies exist in microbiology, 13 in biotechnology, 5 in applied geology. Then there are 15 vacancies in environmental science, 4 in library and information science, and 2 in pharmaceutical chemistry.
Faculty of education has 5 vacancies in physical education department.
