APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, formerly Kerala Technological University, has decided to conduct all BTech, MTech, MBA, and MCA final semester exams in online mode. The affiliated colleges will soon make arrangements to hold final semester online exams. Other than this, the University has also decided to waive off the minimum credit requirement for promotion of UG and PG students to higher semester. This shall be applicable during this academic year only.

The decision to hold the final semester exams in online mode has been taken as per the University Grants Commission (UGC) directive. The instructions state that the Universities have to hold the final year exams online, offline, or in a mixed manner and looking at the situation in hand KTU decided to conduct it online

In the online exam, the final year students will have to answer a particular set of questions within a given time limit. The detailed process for evaluation will be also notified in the coming days by KTU. The university shall also announce it online, on ktu.edu.in.

In the case of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), the marks obtained by the students in the online exam will be subjected to a normalisation process. The University aims to issue degree certificates for those taking the online exams by the end of August month.

It has been noted that the final year exams have been a major problem for many, especially for the students who have received their campus placements. Vice-chancellor of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) have stated that, students who are not comfortable taking the exam online, can later take another round of exams in September in the pen-and-paper format.

Impact of COVID-19 is heavy on the students and the education system in general. Hence, looking at the situation, KTU decided that there will be no restriction of minimum credit for promoting the students. However, this is only applicable for even semester January-June 2020.

KTU, have also decided to forgo the semester exams for the junior classes. Following the UGC norms, it has been decided that the juniors will be awarded marks out of 150, out of it 50 will be internal marks. The marks will be calculated as the average of the marks / grades that they have achieved in the past.

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (formerly Kerala Technological University), is a State Government University. It was established in the year 2014. The University grants affiliation and offers Graduate, Post Graduate and Research Programmes in Engineering Science, Technology and Management courses.
