The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Kerala has released the focus areas for the SSLC 2022 today, on Monday, December 27, 2021 at their official website. Students can access the Kerala SSLC Focus Area 2022 from the official website of SCERT at scert.kerala.gov.in.
The council has released five documents in all for focus area. They are – (1) SSLC 2022 Focus Area, (2) Higher Secondary Second Year 2022 Focus Area, (3) Vocational Higher Secondary (VHSE) Second Year 2022 Focus Area, (4) SSLC (Special School-HI) 2022 Focus Area, (5) Second Year of Higher Secondary (Special School-HI) 2022 Focus Area.

The students can access the Kerala SSLC Focus Area 2022 by following the steps mentioned below.
Step 1: Visit the official website of SCERT Kerala at scert.kerala.gov.in.
Step 2: Then click on the link What’s New.
Step 3: On the next page, click on the notification link ഫോക്കസ് ഏര്യ – എസ്.എസ്.എല്.സി 2022 given on the website which can be translated as Focus Area – S.S.L.C 2022.
Step 3: The link will open a document containing the Kerala SSLC Focus Area 2022 for all subjects.
Step 4: Download the document and save it for future reference.
Step 5: Take a printout, if necessary.
Likewise, one can download the focus area documents for other subjects as well.
The SCERT has not reduced or cut any part of the whole syllabus of all the subjects. The syllabus will remain the same as of the previous years. The SSLC Focus Area 2022 has been released to help the students prepare well for the most important topics of all subjects.
The director of the SCERT said in the statement that due to the ongoing pandemic the students were not able to attend offline classes upto November and even after the offline classes started they were not able to study the syllabus well. So, the council has decided to release the focus area 2022 to aid students of varying intelligence levels do well in the exams.
The statement also said that the council has not reduced the syllabus because different students have different aptitudes and that must be respected. However, the topics that need more classroom discussions and analysis are included in the SSLC Focus Area 2022.
The council has urged the teachers to help each and every student according to their needs as all the classes were taken either online or in a hurry. While discussing the portions mentioned in the focus area, the teachers should also make sure that they clear all the doubts raised by the students from outside the focus area.
The SCERT director has advised the teachers to keep in mind the circumstances of the students who have been preparing their portions either through online classes or self study due to the ongoing pandemic.
