Kerala PSC to issue LDC notification 2019-2020

Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) will release the notification for recruitment to the post of lower division clerk, or clerk, soon. Recent reports suggest that the Kerala PSC LDC notification 2019 will be released in October or November.

The last time that Kerala PSC LDC recruitment was conducted was three years ago, in 2016. In that recruitment, SSLC or class 10th pass candidates could apply.

Reports suggest that there will not be any change in eligibility criteria. This is because the work on changing the existing clause as per applicable statutes have said to come to a standstill. However, if the eligibility criteria is modified, then the same will reflect in the notification.

The proposed timeline for Kerala PSC LDC recruitment 2019-2020 is that first of all, notification will release and at the same time online application form will be available in October or November 2019. Then the exams will start in June 2020, and will be completed by September 2020. Rank lists will be published by April 2021. The present three year term will expire on April 2021.

In the previous LDC recruitment, around 17.94 lakh candidates had applied. Around 20 lakh are expected to apply this time.

Kerala PSC had released the last LDC notification in November 2016. Its rank list was published in April 2018. Rankings are published district wise, one each for Kollam, Malappuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasargod, Idukki, Kottayam, and such districts where there is a vacancy.

It is further reported that this time the upper age limit for general candidates will be 36 years, for OBC it will be 39 years, 41 for SC and ST. Last time also the same requirement was applicable.

The exam pattern, syllabus, and other parameters of the selection process will be revealed with the notification. It may be noted that the last time’s exam was 1 hour 15 minutes long, pen and paper based test of 100 marks. There were questions on simple arithmetic, mental ability, english, reasoning, general knowledge, numerical aptitude.

The biggest attraction of Kerala PSC LDC recruitment is the educational qualification – by allowing class 10th pass government job seekers to apply, the number of candidates who are eligible for the post become very high. Although there are simultaneous processes in play with regard to changing the qualification requirements, reports suggest that the eligibility criteria will not change this time.

Once the details of Kerala PSC LDC 2019 are finalized, notification will be released. Although last time the application process was offline, now that all PSC processes are online the LDC form filling will also be online at keralapsc.gov.in. Eligibility criteria, vacancies, selection process will be as per the official notification only.
