The Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala published a notification on March 12, 2019, regarding the rescheduling of entrance exam date. The exam conducting body has rescheduled the exam date for KEAM 2019 due to forthcoming Loksabha elections. As per the notification, the Loksabha election in Kerala has been scheduled to be held on April 23, 2019, hence the entrance exam has been re-scheduled to April 27-28, 2019.

Earlier the KEAM 2019 exam was proposed to be conducted on April 23-22, 2019. However, the dates were clashing with the Loksabha Election schedule. As per the official notification, the Engineering Entrance Examination will be conducted across the 14 District Centres in Kerala and at Mumbai, New Delhi and Dubai as per the schedule. The last date to apply for KEAM 2019 is over.

With the release of the Loksabha Election schedule, various students have shown their disinterest in the extension of the exam date, while there are others who are happy that they will get extra time to prepare for the entrance exam.
