The Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala published a notification on March 12, 2019, regarding the rescheduling of entrance exam date. The exam conducting body has rescheduled the exam date for KEAM 2019 due to forthcoming Loksabha elections. As per the notification, the Loksabha election in Kerala has been scheduled to be held on April 23, 2019, hence the entrance exam has been re-scheduled to April 27-28, 2019.
Earlier the KEAM 2019 exam was proposed to be conducted on April 23-22, 2019. However, the dates were clashing with the Loksabha Election schedule. As per the official notification, the Engineering Entrance Examination will be conducted across the 14 District Centres in Kerala and at Mumbai, New Delhi and Dubai as per the schedule. The last date to apply for KEAM 2019 is over.
With the release of the Loksabha Election schedule, various students have shown their disinterest in the extension of the exam date, while there are others who are happy that they will get extra time to prepare for the entrance exam. Other than KEAM 2019, the entrance exams which have been re-scheduled are Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET-2019), Kerala Common Entrance Test (KCET-2019), Uttar Pradesh BEd Joint Entrance Exam (UP BEd JEE 2019), ICAI CA May 2019 examination, and more. It is expected that soon many more entrance examinations will be re-scheduled in the light of forthcoming Loksabha election.
Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2019 is going to be conducted in offline mode, i.e. pen-paper based. The Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination is divided into two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. The Paper 1 section consists of questions from Physics and Chemistry and Paper 2 consist of questions from Mathematics. Paper 1 and 2 will be conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
The question paper for KEAM 2019 will consist of MCQ type questions which a candidate need to solve in a duration of 150 minutes. In Paper 1, there will be 120 MCQs and in Paper 2, there will be 120 MCQs.
The candidates who successfully registered for the entrance exam by paying the Application Fee before the deadline will be issued the KEAM 2019 Admit Card. CEE will send a rejection memo to the candidates whose KEAM Application Form has been rejected. Only those candidates whose Application Form has been accepted will be able to download their Admit Card from the website, cee.kerala.gov.in.
KEAM 2019 Admit Card is going to be issued online on April 10, 2019. To download it, the aspirants need to log in by entering their Application number and password. The applicants have to download and take a print out of the KEAM Admit Card on the day of the test.
For admission in Engineering courses, the candidate’s performance in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination -2019 will be taken into consideration. CEE will publish a separate rank list for Engineering Courses, Architecture Course, MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BSMS/BUMS, Agriculture, Veterinary, Forestry and Fisheries, BAMS Course, B.Pharm Course.
