Karnataka Examinations Authority Announces CET 2018 Exam Date

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has declared the exam date for Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) 2018. The CET will be held on April 18 and 19, 2018. The date for Kannada Language Test has also been announced. It will be conducted on April 20, 2018. Last year the exam was held in the month of May. However for the upcoming session, the test will be held much earlier.

CET Karnataka will consist of papers for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology. The examination for Mathematics and Biology will be held on April 18. Candidates will appear for Mathematics paper from 10:30 am to 11:50 am. Whereas, the Paper for Biology will be organized from 2:30 pm to 3:50 pm. On the next day Physics and Chemistry examination will be held from 10:30 to 11:50 am and 2:30 to 3:50 pm, respectively.

While the exam center for CET will be established all over the state, the only exam center for Kannada Language Test will be in Bangalore. The Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates will have to appear for the exam from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. It will be 50 marks exam.

On the basis of Karnataka CET 2018 merit, the admission will be granted in B.Tech, B.Pharm, Pharm-D, B.Sc., B.F.Sc., and AYUSH courses. In the official notification, KEA has made clear that the seats in Medical courses will be filled on the basis of NEET 2018 and in Architecture courses, it will be filled as per the performance in JEE Main Paper 2 or NATA 2018. This will be for the first time when the colleges of Karnataka will be granting B.Arch / B.Arch admission on the basis of JEE Main Paper 2. KCET 2018 papers will be of 60 marks each. Each Paper, in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology, will carry 60 marks. The questions will be of multiple choice type and the candidates will have to choose one option as their answer. Until last year, the negative marking was not applicable in the exam. Also, KEA only conducted the exam in pen and paper mode. However, all the details of the exam will be confirmed with the release of the information brochure.

LPUNEST 2021 Application Form

The brochure and the application form of KCET are due to release in the month of December 2017 or January 2018. It will be provided online, on the official website kea.kar.nic.in. The candidates will be required to register by submitting basic details and then fill the application form, upload images, and pay the application fee.
