Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) is all set to conduct the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2021 examination tomorrow, on August 28 and 29, 2021. The entrance test will be held for admission to a variety of courses including engineering and technology, naturopathy, pharmacy, yoga, veterinary sciences, etc. Authorities will also be conducting the Kannada language test on August 30, 2021.
A total of 2,01,816 candidates have registered to appear for the exam tomorrow and the day after. According to higher education department, a total of 530 examination centres have been allotted for the KCET 2021 exam to accommodate the 2.01 lakh students.
Of the 530 allotted centres, 83 are located outside the city of Bengaluru. The remaining 444 centres are located outside the main city, as confirmed by the minister of higher education, CN Ashwatha Narayana.
The Kannada language test scheduled on Monday, August 30, 2021, will be held at 6 main locations namely, Belagavi, Bidar, Vijapura, Mangalore, Ballari and Bengaluru. A total of 1682 candidates have registered for the language test and expected to show up on the scheduled date. This test is especially dedicated for the Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga aspirants.
According to the higher education ministry, strict precautionary measures pertaining to COVID-19 will be implemented at all exam centres. The home department of respective district has been assigned the responsibility of deputing the required number of police personnel at all exam centres on the allotted dates.
Additionally, deputy commissioners of the participating districts have assigned one observer to each examination centre. This observer is part of the assistant commissioner cadre. Moreover, a total of 530 observers and custodians along with 1060 special invigilation squad individuals, approx. 8409 invigilators have been discharged with KCET 2021 examination duties. Moreover, 20,415 officials have also been deployed at various centres to conduct the exam in a seamless manner.
Candidates have to appear for the KCET 2021 examination depending on the subjects pertaining to their preferred field. Put simply, the exam for Biology and Mathematics is scheduled on August 28, 2021. However, the test for Physics and Chemistry shall take place on August 29, 2021. Candidates must take note of this and accordingly, appear for the examination.
As per instructions issued by KEA authorities, candidates have to mandatorily wear their masks while appearing for the written exam. They must also not forget to writer their name on the OMR sheet. Additionally, aspirants must also carry their KCET 2021 hall tickets to the exam centre along with a valid photo ID. This ID may be college ID card, buss pass, passport, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, etc. However, students are not permitted to wear or carry their wristwatch toi the exam hall.
