KAS Notification 2019 Kerala

Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) will publish the Kerala Administrative Services (KAS) 2019 notification today, on November 1, 2019, at 3 pm suggest reports. This is the first time ever KAS exam in Kerala.

Today’s date happens to be the birth of Kerala and is celebrated as Kerala Piravi. On this special day, the commission is looking forward to announce details of the first ever Kerala IAS exam. As per reports, the time of 3 pm has been informed by Chairman ML Sakeer.

KAS notification 2019 Kerala will be available at the official website of Kerala PSC that is keralapsc.gov.in. It will contain complete details of vacancies, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, et al. Separately or within the notification only, PSC shall provide the KAS exam syllabus.

The commission has already disclosed a few major aspects of the exam. To start with, they have decided to give 4% reservation to persons with benchmark disabilities (PWBD). This has been informed quite some time ago via reports.

Coming to the exam itself, there will be a preliminary exam, a mains exam, and an interview. The prelims will have two papers of 100 marks each, or so suggest reports. First paper will be general in nature. While second will have 50 marks worth of questions on general knowledge, 30 marks on administrative knowledge and local languages like malayalam, tamil, kannada, and 20 marks for english language knowledge.

Prelims shall be screening in nature. Followed by the mains exam of 2 hours duration, most probably of 300 marks. And then interview will be of 50 marks. For the purpose of selection, Kerala PSC will consider marks out of 350.

Holding state level IAS exams was approved a few years ago, and first initiated through the Kerala Gazette of December 2017. However the then used reservation norms did not sit well with candidates who protested against the same. After undergoing modifications, mainly to the reservation norms, now finally Kerala KAS 2019 is all set to happen.

Aspects of the exam cum recruitment that are looked forward to be clear with the notification are eligibility, pattern, syllabus. It is anticipated that graduates will be invited to apply for KAS 2019. Also that the mains exam could be subjective in nature. Going by the 2017 gazette, there are expected to be four streams of appointment in the Kerala Administrative Service namely junior time scale, senior time scale, selection grade scale, super time grade scale.

On the national level, UPSC conducts the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) exam. Whereas at the state level, each state’s PSC holds the state -AS exam. Such as recently BPSC held the 65th preliminary test, Rajasthan has RAS, UPPSC holds the Upper PCS, MPPSC conducts CSE exam, and so on. The vacancies offered through these exams are highly coveted among government job aspirants, thus making the competition for one and all who apply against them. Kerala PSC KAS 2019 shall be equally competitive in nature.
