Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has released the application form for Master of Business Administration (MBA). Candidates interested in the management programme can apply for the JNU School of Management at fdsbase.com/jnu_form/index.php#. It is from this year only that JNU will start taking admission for the MBA programme. Its newly established school known as Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ABVSME) will offer the MBA course from the academic year 2019-21.
The school accepts the Common Admission Test (CAT) scores for the admission to the management programme. JNU was added in the list of Non-IIM institutes accepting CAT scores last year in the month of July. So, students who have appeared for CAT 2018 scores can apply for the JNU MBA until March 01, 2019.
Apart from the valid CAT scores, it is important that candidates have a minimum three-year graduation degree. Final year candidates are also eligible for the programme. Also, students must have the minimum aggregate marks in graduation. For Open, OBC, SC/ST/PWD, the minimum marks needed are 60%, 55%, and 45% respectively.
After checking the eligibility, fill the JNU MBA 2019 Application Form at the official website. In there fill the personal, contact, educational, and CAT 2018 details. The application fee for general category is Rs 2000/- and Rs 1000/- for others. On the basis of CAT scores, the interview will take place for shortlisted candidates on 15, 16, and 18 April.
For the final admission, JNU only considers performance in CAT and personal interview. There is 70% weight-age for former and 30% for the latter. The final result will be announced on April 26, 2019. The booking of seats will start from March 03, 2019. For the academic session 2019-21, there are a total of 50 seats in the offer.
Currently, the school of management only offering MBA programme. Soon, ABVSME will also offer 1-year diploma programme in Entrepreneurship and Ph.D. in Business Administration.
The tuition fee for the entire four semester MBA programme is Rs 12 Lakhs for the general category students. Whereas for the OBC (NCL) it is Rs 8 Lakhs and Rs 6 Lakhs for the SC/ST/PWD Students.
CAT 2018 for the new academic year was held on November 25, 2018. The exam was conducted in 147 test cities all over India. It took place in two slots and around 2 lakh candidates appeared for the examination. The result for the CAT was announced in the first week of January 2019. This year only 11 students got the 100 percentile as compared to 20 last year. No female candidates were in topper list this year. All the 11 toppers were male and from an engineering background.
