Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai has not announced the new JEST 2021 Exam Date yet. As per the recent update, the conducting body will review the COVID-19 situation before announcing the JEST exam date 2021. The decision regarding the fresh Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) exam date will be announced in Mid-June 2021.
The JEST 2021 Exam was earlier scheduled for April 11, 2021. Due to the spread of COVID-19, several entrance exams and national level recruitment tests were cancelled/ postponed. Following a similar path, TIFR, Mumbai decided to postpone the JEST exam 2021 until the COVID-19 situation gets a hold on. However, as the conducting body states, “the current Covid-19 situation in India has not improved”, it will not be safe to conduct the exam. Candidates will be at high risk of getting infected by the second wave. Once the situation is under control, TIFR, Mumbai will release a new date on the website, jest.org.in.

It is expected that the new JEST exam date will be announced in the second or third week of June 2021 (mid-June). The exam dates for the entrance test will be announced at least 10-14 days before the actual examination. So, aspirants should keep an eye on the official website to know any further latest updates on the JEST examination 2021.
Previously, JEST admit cards were released on March 20, 2021. However, with the postponement of the exam, the admit card download link was also deactivated. Aspirants will also receive fresh admit cards after the announcement of new exam dates. The call letters will be available on the official website only via a login. So, candidates should keep their registered email address and password.
Moreover, the JEST Exam is a screening test for admission to M.Sc, PhD, and Integrated / M.Sc / M.Tech- PhD programs. This year, 33 institutes are participating in the JEST 2021 Exam. Candidates who will be qualifying for the entrance exam can take admission in participating Institutes. Albeit, JEST scores remain valid for only one year. Some of the participating institutes are ARIES, IISc, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, NISER, TIFR, IISER Berhampur, MSc, IISER Tirupathi, Bose Institute.
The Entrance Exam is held for courses in Physics, Neuroscience, Theoretical Sciences (TCS), Computational Biology. Questions are asked based on the general syllabi of graduation and post-graduation level. The conducting body has also uploaded sample papers for the exam. Candidates can utilize the JEST Sample Paper for Physic and TCS.
