The Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) has issued the admit card for Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) 2019. The admit card has been issued today that is on January 22, 2019. Candidates who have applied for the test can download it online from the official website,jest.org.in.
JEST 2019 is to be conducted on February 17, 2019, Therefore, candidates are advised to download the admit card in order to appear for the examination. To download the admit card: Visit the official website of JEST exam. On the homepage of the website, log in using Username/ Email ID and Password. Submit the details successfully to obtain the admit card on the screen. Download the JEST admit card and take multiple printouts of the sameto be carried to the examination center.
The admit card for JEST 2019 consist of the Name of the Candidate, hall ticket number, Date of birth, Roll number, Exam date, and timings, Center details, candidate’s Photograph and Signature etc, must be verified by every candidate. In case the photograph of a candidate is not printed on the admit card they should paste one in the box for the photograph. The image that is pasted by the candidates must be the same as the one uploaded in the application form.
Along with this admit card candidates should also carry a valid photo Id proof with them to the examination center. The acceptable id proof for JEST exam are Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driver’s License, voter Id.
JEST 2019 is an offline pen and paper-based test, with all multiple choice question, from physics syllabus topics: Mathematical Methods, Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetism & Optics, Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamics & Statistical Physics, Electronics. The paper is conducted in a single session and contains three sections that are A, B and C with a total of 50 questions: A – 15, B – 10, C – 25.
As per the marking scheme For Correct Answer in each section A – 3 marks, B – 3 marks, C – 1 mark will be awarded, and for an incorrect answer, A – 1 mark, B – 0 marks, C – 1/3 mark will be deducted.
The admission process for JEST 2019 is to appear and qualify for the written test and the interview round. This year, JEST will be conducted across 36 Indian cities. JEST scores are said to be valid for one year for taking admission to Ph.D./ Integrated Ph.D. Programme in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science or Neuroscience or Computational Biology.
