National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam organizer for JEE Main 2020, has provided the facility to reset password, if one has forgotten it. This is crucial for candidates as they start downloading admit card from jeemain.nta.nic.in today.
The process of resetting password is simple in itself. Also there are more than one ways to do it.
To reset password, candidate needs to go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and either click the login link, or admit card download link, whichever is available. Navigating through to the inner pages, on the login page, one can see two links just below the login form: forgot password, and forgot application number.
Clicking the forgot password link leads to testservices.nic.in/examsys/ForgotPassword/PwdResetOptno.aspx (candidates can directly type this url in their browsers too to get to the forgot password page). Here they can see three options.
The first option is to reset password of JEE Main using security question and its answer. At the time of applying, candidates had to select any one of the 5 security questions – Which is the website you rarely visit? What is the name of your first school? What is your neighbour’s pet name? What is the registration number of your first vehicle? Which is your favourite book? The applicant only is supposed to know the answer to the question selected. Upon selecting the first option, candidate needs to enter his or her application number, select the security question, and type in its answer.
Option number two is to reset password using a verification code sent via text message to registered mobile number. Selecting this option, one has to enter application number, date of birth. Then check sms for verification code, enter it in the form, and reset the password.
The third, last option is to reset using link sent to registered email address. This option also asks candidate to enter application number and date of birth. Now, a reset link is sent to the registered email address, access to which only the applicant of JEE Main 2020 is supposed to have, so that no one else can change his or her password. Using the reset link, candidate can then reset his or her password.
With the new password, one can now login to download JEE Main admit card 2020 for the January session exam, starting today. It is mandatory to take the admit card along with other requisite documents to the exam center on the day of the exam.
The national level engineering entrance exam is scheduled to be held from January 6 to 11, 2020. Exam date assigned to each candidate, as well as centre, shall be indicated in the admit card aka hall ticket only. Copies of the admit card, and roll number should be kept safely for post-exam use as well.
