National Testing Agency (NTA) is currently conducting the JEE Main 2022 session 1 registration which is scheduled to end in 5 days i.e., March 31, 2022, at 5:00 pm. The online application process commenced on March 01, 2022, on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Interested and eligible candidates still have a few days to fill out and submit the form. They can also pay the prescribed application fee on or before March 31, 2022, at 11:30 pm. Surprisingly, however, this time, NTA has not provided any separate correction window to make changes in the already-submitted form.
As per the notice, the following has been quoted in this regard –
“Candidates are requested to fill in the application form very carefully. No corrections will be permitted once the application form is submitted”
JEE main 2022 Correction Window Given Before
In 2021, NTA had successfully conducted four sessions of the JEE Main examination. These sessions were held in the months of February, March, July and August 2021. The application process for session 1 was organised from December 16, 2020, to January 16, 2021. Thereafter, successfully registered candidates could make changes in their submitted form from January 19 to 21, 2021.
Using the correction window, candidates could make changes in their personal details, educational details as well as re-upload the scanned images. So, barring a few details, the entire application form could be rectified. This facility was particularly useful for those who had committed certain mistakes in their forms. However, the facility may not be given in 2022, as implied in the information brochure.
Is there a possibility of JEE Main 2022 correction window?
While most news portals believe that NTA has done away with the idea of a separate correction window, some remain hopeful. In fact, some assumptions imply that the agency will issue a separate public notice informing students about the correction window. However, this assumption has neither been denied or confirmed by agency officials. Furthermore, they are yet to provide any statements or clarity on the correction window.
Under such circumstances, candidates have no choice but to stay tuned for any future development in this regard. They are advised to keep track of the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in, for any such public notice or important announcement.
Not relying on JEE Main 2022 correction facility
Candidates who have already submitted their JEE Main 2022 application form have no choice but to wait and hope for a correction facility, in case their forms contain some discrepancies. However, those who are yet to submit their forms must not wait for a hypothetical correction window. Instead, they must focus on getting all the details right before clicking the ‘submit‘ button.
