The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open the window for form corrections of JEE Main 2021 tomorrow, that is January 27, 2021. All candidates who have applied for the engineering entrance exam will be able to change details in the form. This is a one-time opportunity for anyone who has made any mistake in the form to rectify the same.
It is relevant to note that the facility to remove image discrepancy has already been initiated. That is to say, candidates are reporting that they are getting emails and sms from NTA if photograph or signature are incorrect. In such cases, they are meant to login and re-upload appropriate images.
Data fields of the form, all of them reportedly, will be open to being changed from tomorrow. The last date to edit the form is the end of form correction window, that is January 30, 2021. Initially the form correction window was supposed to be open from January 19 to 21, 2021; however due to extension of form submission deadline, the window to edit the form was also moved.
The process to make corrections in the application form shall be simple and candidate friendly. All one has to do is to go to jeemain.nta.nic.in, the official website of JEE Mains. Then click on the link for form correction (that will be available only during the said window). Then they have to login with application number and password or date of birth, as the form requires. And upon login, they can make changes to the form.
As far as fee for corrections is concerned, there are none. However if one makes a change in category (from reserved to un-reserved), exam center (in India to outside India), gender (female to male) where for the changed status, a higher application fee of JEE Main 2021 was applicable – then in that case the difference in amount of fee will have to be paid. Other than that there will be no fee for correction.
Another important point to note is that this time changes in city of exam center will be allowed. This is confirmed by the JEE Main 2021 FAQs, where the 17th FAQ states “Yes, candidates may correct/ change his/her particulars including City of Exam Centre in the Online Application, when correction window will be opened under intimation to the candidates through Public Notice for each Session. ”
After closure of form correction window, NTA will release JEE Main 2021 admit card in the second week of February. The exams will be held on February 23 to 26, 2021. Of the available dates, the date that candidate will be allotted, will be provided in their admit cards.
As per reports, a record number of 11 lakh candidates have applied for the Joint Entrance Examination. However, 6.5 lakh will be appearing for the February edition. The overall registrations is higher than last time, when 9.5 lakh had taken the exam.
JEE Mains is the national level entrance exam, wherein paper 1 is for BE / B.Tech admissions, paper 2A is for B.Arch, and paper 2B is for B.Planning. Besides, it is the qualifying examination for JEE Advanced 2021.
