The application form submission deadline has until now never been extended by NTA. Therefore students may not expect the deadline to change this time. Thus all interested students should fill and submit the form without further delay, in the few hours left.
National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the online application form submission window for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains tonight. The closing time is 11.50 pm.
NTA has further advised candidates to not wait for the last hour and apply sooner to avoid any sort of problem due to heavy traffic load. The latest message on the website reads, “The last date for submission of online application form of JEE (Main) – 2020 is 30 September 2019. Please complete the registration and fee payment before the last date to avoid the heavy traffic load in the JEE (Main) -2020 Application Portal.”
After this, on October 11, 2019, JEE Main 2020 application form correction will begin. The window for the same will remain available until October 17, 2019. During this time, candidates who have submitted the application form will be able to login and make changes to details in their forms.
Detailed information on what can be edited, and what cannot, will be published through a separate notification. Either on the same day when the correction window will open, or a few days prior to it, NTA will publish a notification about these things.
Last year, candidates were allowed to make corrections in almost all the fields. However between candidate’s name, mother’s name, father’s name, only one field could be edited.
Choices of cities cannot be edited once submitted.
There are no additional charges associated with form correction. However if gender or category change is done, then difference in fee has to be paid. If difference in fee is negative, then candidates will not get refund.
Such students who miss applying for JEE Main Jan 2020, can apply for JEE Main Apr 2020. Registrations for the latter shall open on February 7, 2020, and will close on March 7, 2020. It may be noted that that JEE Mains will be conducted only two times – once in January, and once in April. Students who look forward to pursuing engineering and taking admission in the academic session 2020-21 must appear in at least of the two JEE Mains.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains is the national level exam for admission to BE/B.Tech programs in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs. Besides them, a large number of colleges accept JEE Mains scores for their admissions. Moreover qualifying the exam is the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2020, for admission to IITs.
Last year 9.29 lakh had applied for the January session exam, and 9.34 lakh candidates applied for April exam, out of which, 6.69 lakh had already taken JEE Main Jan. Over 72% students opted to appear for JEE Mains twice. Best of the two percentiles are used for admission.
