JEE Main 2019 April Exam: 10 Wrong Questions; Chances Of Bonus Marks For Candidates

JEE Main 2019 April exam concluded on April 12, 2019. The answer keys, response sheets, and question papers were uploaded over jeemain.nic.in on April 14, 2019. Now after the candidates have checked their responses and the official answer key, there are 10 wrong answers detected that the NTA has uploaded as the corrects ones in the official JEE Main 2019 Answer Keys.

Here is the list of questions for which the candidates have claimed that the answers by NTA are wrong. NTA has also kept a challenge window open for the candidates to challenge the NTA’s answers to the questions from April 14 – 16, 2019. The challenge fee of Rs. 1000/- has been charged from the candidates and the same will be returned to them if the challenges are accepted.

Below are the question Ids that are claimed to be wrong. Note that there are question Ids as the question paper of JEE Main 2019 was in online mode.

PHYSICS April 8 shift 1

The wrong question Id: 41652912706

NTA’s answer: Option 3

However, the correct answer is none to this question. Candidates can expect bonus marks in this question if applicable.


PHYSICS April 8 shift 1

The wrong question Id: 41652912718

NTA’s answer: Option 3, 20 cm from the convergent mirror, the same size as the image

However, the correct answer is none to this question. Candidates can expect bonus marks in this question if applicable.


Physics April 8 Shift 1

The wrong question Id: 41652913781

NTA’s answer: 10:15:7 (4)

However, the correct answer is none to this question, however, the closest possible solution gives the answer 14:15:20 (1).


Physics April 8 Shift 2

The wrong question Id: 41652914697

NTA’s answer: Option 3

However, the correct answer option 1.


Chemistry April 8 Shift 2

The wrong question Id: 41652914708

NTA’s answer: Option 1

However, the correct answer is none, therefore the candidates can expect bonus marks in this question if applicable.


PHYSICS April 9 Shift 2

The wrong question Id: 41652913066

NTA’s answer: 37.030 sq.cm (4)

However, the correct answer is 37.03 sq. cm which is option 2.


Maths April 9 Shift 1

The wrong question Id: 41652913838

NTA’s answer: Option 2

It is claimed that the question itself is wrong, therefore the candidates can expect to get bonus marks if applicable.


PHYSICS April 10 Shift 1

The wrong question Id: 41652913066

NTA’s answer: Option 1

However, the correct answer is option 4.


PHYSICS April 10 Shift 2

The wrong question Id: 41652914344

NTA’s answer: Option 4

However, the correct answer is none, the candidates can look forward to bonus marks in this question if applicable.


PHYSICS April 12 Shift 2

The wrong question Id: 41652913426

NTA’s answer: Option 2

However, the correct answer is option 1.


As per the available wrong answers and their correct claims, it is observed that most of the wrong answers were in Physics and on April 08, 2019 examination.

While talking about the bonus marks, there is no information available in the public domain by NTA that whether or not for the wrong questions candidates will get bonus marks. Therefore the candidates who challenge the answer key will get their challenge fee refunded, but the addition of bonus marks for the wrong questions are uncertain as of now.

If bonus marks are given then, if a question was wrong, or no option was correct, then all students got bonus marks of +4. However, in this regard, the decision of NTA is the final one.

NTA JEE Main 2019 Result will be announced by April 30, 2019, for paper 1and by May 15, 2019, for paper 2.

    For the wrong ques of shift 2 9th April I think ans should be 37.0 because ans must have SAME NO.. OF SIGNIFICANT FIGURES as in ques so 5.29 has 3 significant figures

    I have challenged for the April 12 Shift 2 wrong answer but have not yet heard from NTA nor the money has been refunded. I have written to them a couple of times but have not received any information
