Online application form process for JEE Main 2018 will start on December 1, 2017, which is just a few days away. For exactly one month, the application form will be available online. Meaning which, candidates can fill and submit the form until January 1, 2018. Fee payment is to go on for one day over and above that last date; therefore, the last date to pay the fee to appear in JEE Main will be January 2, 2018.
With this announcement, it is clear that CBSE is sticking it to its usual schedule. JEE Apex Board is conducting Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2018 on April 8, 2018, in offline mode. This will be the sixth edition of CBSE JEE Main.
Although this notice (see copy below) does not mention the date of online exam, candidates need not worry. Last year also the initial admission notice of JEE Main did not notify online exam date. The date of online exam will be published in official information brochure of JEE Main 2018 which will be available within a few hours today.

Candidates interested in appearing in the exam must apply online for JEE Main 2018 through official website jeemain.nic.in. The form can be filled on any date between December 1, 2017, to January 1, 2018.
In pursuance of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, the exam will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018, by JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Technical Institutions.
States that are a part of JEE Main system this time are Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Nagaland, Odisha. It is observed that Gujarat is missing from this list this time. Indicating that Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GujCET) will be held for admission to academic session 2018-2019. Candidates from aforementioned five states must note that these states will not hold any separate engineering entrance exams.
IITs/ISM Dhanbad admission will be on basis of JEE Advanced 2018 which is on May 20, 2018. In order to appear in it, the candidate needs to first clear CBSE JEE Main exam. More details of JEE Advanced 2018 can be found here and at jeeadv.ac.in.
The official website is to host information bulletin containing details of age relaxation, cities of examination, eligibility for admission, eligibility criteria to appear, examination, examination fees, important dates, reservation policies, state code of eligibility, syllabus. The board urges candidates to first read the brochure and then apply. A separate notice will appear regarding Aadhaar authentication before submission of online form.
